I'm planning on a Seymour SS/XD screen too and am interested in the seating distance to your first row (not the beanbags) of seats. Any problems seeing the fabric weave? When I tested the XD with a 2ft sample at 12' I had no problems. But I may have to move the 'money seat' closer to the screen (maybe @ 10') due to the size of my room.
Eyes-to-screen distance for the real seats is 13'. Definitely no issues with weave visibility at that distance.
I've watched a couple of movies from the overflow seats (bean bags). Eyes-to-screen distance from those are ~8.5'. At that distance, I notice the weave/texture primarily in large bright areas, but it doesn't otherwise distract from movie viewing for me. I have not actively tested at that distance to see how much I can see the weave when specifically looking for it.
Based on feedback I've read from other folks, if you are thinking about 10', you'll definitely want to test using samples. Way too much variance in folks vision and expectations / sensitivities...
I've had other folks from AVS forum over so they could see my projector and/or screen themselves instead of just reading reviews, but Austin is a bit of a drive from AL so that probably isn't a useful offer for you
