I was about to post that Amazon had PS3s for $199 on their Gold Box, but they sold out. In 9 minutes.

I think Sony should consider a price drop.

the last price drop was in August 2009 at gamescon. August 2011 gamescon sounds like a great time for another price drop.

Me too. Sony won't usually allow a sale like that unless a price drop (and looks like a new model from the FCC filing) is coming. Most likely the price drop will be just in time to undercut the new Wii U. Probably be $199, as the Gold box deal was.

The last price cut was in an August at GamesCom. If it were to happen this year, that would be my guess, and at most I'd say it'll only be -$50. It seems unlikely to have the PS3 cost $200 while the PSV launches at $250.

With that said, sales and specials go on throughout every year. This particular special deal isn't an indicator of whats to come IMHO.

Best Buy has one of the better deals I've seen on the PS3. Until Saturday, they have the 320GB Move Bundle for 349(usually 399) That alone is a good deal, but in addition, you get a free Move compatible game( in addition to Sports Champions already included) In addition to 60 dollar titles like Killzone 3, Socom 4, LBP 2, and The Show 2011, you can get Killzone 3 Helghast Edition or The Tiger Woods 2012 Special Edition( my choice). Those games have a MSRP of 89.99 and 69.99, respectively.

I actually finally got the 160 Slim to replace my old BC Fat from amazon when they had it for 199, however returned it in favor of this. For me it was a better deal. I was gonna spend at least 70 bucks on a 320 gig Hard drive and USB drive required for upgrade with the slims, so for about 80 bucks more i got a 70 dollar game, another motion controller, Sports Champions, and an extra PSEye, which i could sell for about 30. No brainer for me.

Got Fry's? If so, they have the Move+PSEye+Sports Champions bundle for only $50 (that's half off). In-store only though, good through June 9th.

Looks like we all missed out on it then.

This week the Fry's in my area is advertising the Move bundle with Kung Fu Rider and Start the Party for $69.
