The only disappointing thing is that they are being stubborn about offering a good sale price on Lumines: Electronic Symphony, but I'll remain patient.

Probably cause it'll be a freebie real soon, since it was an EU freebie.

I bought my PS3 in the newegg ebay sale 2 weeks ago -  $230 for the Assasins Creed 500GB bundle. I think it was a special 1 day sale, but newegg had similar sales on their site the following day.

Haven't opened the game yet, I want to sell it. I also got 15 months of PS+ for $40 so it ended being a pretty good deal!

Nope, Reno. LOL one weird situation and you wouldn't believe me anyway it is that far out sideways. Her mother did a full on facepalm when she found out everything. :P

Think I might wait for PS4 to come out and buy a price dropped ps3 or buy one from one of the guys at work that will most likely sell theirs to gamestop.

Far Cry 3 is available for $30 at Best Buy right now.
I think that 30 bucks is better spent on Bioshock Infinite.
Agreed, but I preordered Bioshock early and jumped on this Far Cry 3 deal today.

BF3 Premium on sale for $30:

(Game, all DLC, and new tags / assignments)

I know these prices are dropping because the PS4 will be here in a couple months...

but it sure is nice.

Most vita/move games are $15-20, and ps3 games are $20-30 (when they get a bit old). in stores and new*gg.

I would love to get a ps3 console for $150 new;)
Newegg has some good PS3 deals right now. I picked up Deus Ex:HR for $7.99 and uDraw for $9.99.

Hi Folks ,

You are not going to believe this but I don`t have a gaming system eek.gif

I am strongly considering the PS3 , but watched a video on You Tube last night from some guy that absolutely disliked the new style.

I am thinking about the red GOW edition , ( not because of the game , just anything but black or white , not a big fan of red , but somehow it works on the new PS3 ).

So is it a good system or bad , the guy on YT said it took forever to load games , ?

True or False ?

The last PS that I had used memory cards eek.gif + eek.gif

Thanks in advance for your help, I just really want to play GRID 2 ! biggrin.gif , as well as others.

It is true that patches and updates are very slow on the PS3 compared to the 360. But the biggest thing to look at is what do any friends play, and will you play a lot of online? If you aren't going to play online a bunch, then the PS3 makes sense because you don't have to pay to play online. Also look at the exclusives. Sony has a bunch of highly rated ones that will come pretty cheap at this point. One draw back is the lack of apps on the PS3, if that is something you want. I enjoy checking out a few apps on the Xbox, and they aren't avaliable on the PS3.

Also, if you do go with the PS3, I highly recommend going with ps+. You will get several older PS3 games for free and will continue to get a new free game at least once a month. It is a pretty good deal for someone entering this generation this late.
Hey AG , thanks for your help , so basically I would just be buying a few games and not playing online much , although I would be hooked up.

So that PS+ that you mentioned , is that a yearly fee or monthly or free ?

I really don`t know that much , but I did check out the PS3 online site where you would download games , they had some older ones like Castlevania that I used to play , and a few others that looked familiar.

So , I take it that is what the HDD is for , to store games and extras you would buy online , right ?

Can you take a new bought disc and load it to the HDD and not have to insert the game disc every time you wanted to play it ?

Thanks again for your help ! smile.gif

PS:

Amazon has what seems to be a good deal on GRID 2

http://www.amazon.com/GRID-2-Playstation-3/dp/B0093FO2TS/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1368560237&sr=1-1&keywords=GRID+2

You can either do a month to month sub for plus, or go with a year for $50. If that seems like a lot, you can download 4-6 full free games right now for free, so it really is a good deal.

The HDD is used for storage, but you cannot rip the data from the disc and do away with it. You will still have to have the disc in the PS3 to play games.

PS3 is best IMO for singleplayer games that require heavy immersion and multimedia (playing videos, netflix, etc)

360 is best IMO for multiplayer games. While I do also use the 360 for netflix, I prefer it on the ps3.

Another consideration for you is the controller. Some prefer the xbox. Some prefer the ps3.

I started with the PS3, but now it's turned into my media box. I've recently started replaying the Ace Combat series (my PS3 is old and is backwards compatible). Otherwise, I use the xbos for all my gaming. Either way, you're going to be the ultimate winner - the systems are cheap and much improved over their original releases, both systems have expansive libraries of games, and with the new systems on the horizon, people are likely going to be dumping their current gen systems and games, so it'll be easy to find them.

This is also true. I started with the Xbox, and still do most of my gaming on it because that is were all my friends are. But I noticed something, I had been bragging about some of the games I played on the PS3 for a long time, and now I had two of my closer friends go pick up a system, and two more are really really interested in getting one just for The Last of Us. For Jedi, I think it will hit everything you want it to do. I am guessing that since you waited so long, you don't have many friends in real life that play consoles, because that would be the people I talk to if I were you.
