It's been a few months since my last post. Looks like my 3310 kicked it yesterday. It refuses to turn on, simply goes into recovery mode with the "flashing red light of death" every time its powered on. Even after the micro processor reset. Denon tech/ customer support can't do anything for me other than give me a number of my nearest service centre.
I spent most of my day yesterday troubleshooting the issue. All fuses are fine, Looks like theres an issue with the front right channel transistor. I've researched youtube videos on changing power regulators and such however I've decided that its a little out of my league and I'll leave it to the professionals. I dropped my 3310 at a repair center around the corner from me and he's charging me $30 to tell me what the exact issue is. I'll hear back from him by wednesday. I will keep you all posted. While they don't know what will have to be done; typical repairs go for $70-$250.
This is the second time I'm sending my 3310 to a repair center in the 4 years I've owned it. The first being a replacement of the network card; which took months to repair due to a backorder of parts.
At this point I'm pretty upset with Denon. I was under the impression that this receiver was "high-end". While the sound quality amazed me day-in and day-out. The fact that it's not working right now really gets on my nerves.
I'm having second thoughts of doing the repair if its more than $200. I've read so many other issues including HDMI boards; its hard to see where all the problems end. Especially since there are so many other receiver at reasonable price points. I dont think I could ever buy another Denon again. http://www.soundandvision.com/content/top-picks-av-receivers
I would appreciate any feedback from people who have dealt with a similar issue or who's chosen to move on from the 3310 and what they ended up with. I bought the 3310 when it first came out and paid $1,700 CAN
I don't see myself spending that much on a receiver so close to this ordeal.
