If you've ever played thru the Madden franchise with multiple people (not online) or just by yourself, it looks to be very similar to that. Each user controls a team, play their games, manages the roster, trades, all that good stuff. The commisioner of the league will be able to set how many games the season is, quarter length, date/times to play, difficulty level, all the things you control and more than in previous games from what I've read/seen.

Really cool - You'll also be able to manage and control your team from your computer rather than just on the PS3. For example, if you want to adjust your depth chart, propose/view trades, gameplan, pretty much all the stuff other than actually playing the games, you'll be able to do from any computer, similar to controling your fantasy football team.

So if you're worried you won't have time to keep up with the league, don't fret b/c with this new feature you can manage your team while you're on your computer at work or sitting at home. I believe you can even set it up so you recieve txt message or email updates anytime someone proposes a trade to you so you can review it or decline it.

I'm curious about one thing. If, say, I am supposed to play $mitty and for whatever reason I can't play that game because i'm too busy, can $mitty just play against the pc or will he have to simulate the game and hope he wins?

That I'm not 100% sure about, but I would imagine if I'm online and ready to play the game and my opponent isn't there, I would either win by forfeit or would play against your team controlled by the computer. I doubt it would just simulate it.

Once the game is released we'll be able to figure out exactly how those types of issues work. It looks to be very in depth and user friendly in terms of how much control the commissioner and team owners will have over their league though.

Hopefully the actual gameplay is improved upon from recent years too!

I guess if you are supposed to play against another human controlled team, you will need to coordinate with that person as to when the two of you can sit down and play.

I know with MLB2k you are allowed to skip ahead and whoever is online at the same time can play. Then when the other opponents are online they play and makeup the missing games.

a 1 round draft?

Everyone just gets 1 team, first come, first serve.

i guess i can give this a try. I have only done 1 other online league and that was for nba 2k9. But that fizzled out because people stopped playing. It was still pretty fun if you were playing with cool people. As you can tell, I will take the SEAHAWKS!!!

I'd be down for playing it either way...realistic rosters or fantasy draft.

I think a draft would be a headache. Let's try it with the regular rosters first.
You're probably right. Drafts are a ton of fun, but it would be next to impossible to get everyone online to do it at the same time.
yeah no draft, every one wouldn't show up!

Has everyone reserved their copy of the game, or at least plan on picking it up as soon as it comes out?
I have reserved it, and if you plan on getting it day one I advise you do the same.
Looks like I lost out on the Pats. Oh well, this would have been the only reason I would have bought '10. Saves me 60 beans.

Reserved my copy at Gamestop yesterday. Can't wait to try out the demo on Thursday!

Gamestop sucks btw, but you probably already knew that. I hate that I have no other options when it comes to video game stores!

Couldn't you purchase it from someone online and still get it the day it comes out?

Sure wish I could play but my 20-month old takes priority over the PS3. I live in Hawaii too so playing games has always been a problem when I belonged to online franchises in the PC days due to the time difference.

I remember when I played in online leagues 10 years ago and used to spend hours trying to hammer out trades. I miss those days but we all have different priorities than we did 10 years ago. I guess I'll just have to play on my own late at night when everyone is asleep.
