It was asking if it was 4:3 SD aspect ratio instead of 16:9 SD aspect ratio.

16:9 sd

Wouldn't you think at this point, if you new you were going to be on HK you would get a bunch of chicken, fish, shrimp, beef, etc and learn/practice how to cut & cook it properly. As well as learn how to make risotto.

I realize there is a lot of pressure with Chef Ramsey watching you, but if you have practiced what you are doing, that should take some of the pressure off and make it a little easier.

I had the same problems on D* in Atlanta. I definitely had it on the HD station and it was in 4:3.

If you get too good, they'll boot you.

I'm glad he cut "eyes" Melinda. I figured Van would be the one to go due to roid rage, not Joseph. He came across as a c0ck and definitely backed it up.

I know. I wasn't surprised that Van acted like a d1ck, he seemed that way from the beginning. But I didn't expect Joesph to blow up in the same episode. I knew he was a d1ck too, from the very beginning when he got into an argument over tasting food with a fork.

I can't wait for next week!

I never imagined JP would blow up like he did last episode. Cracked me up. Then Ramsay yelled at him... Booohhhh roflmao

I've liked his shows since the first ones here, maybe it's just the drama and constant swearing but it's entertaining and he actually does seem to care about the people once he gets the idiots weeded out towards the end. I'm sure like any show of this sort they pick people who will be overly dramatic and hot headed, and setup things that may not happen on their own.
The marine will be lucky not to get arrested and maybe thats why he's not a marine anymore

They've been trying to incorporate JP more into the show lately. That whole cake mess up was pretty phony. Then they had that scene when he was escorting one of the female contestants in a limo and they made it seem like a love match.

The show should just stick to the cooking.

Yea, no need to start making a dating show out of it also. They may loose some viewers if they start trying to make two shows out of one.

They made it so dramatic when Joseph got up in Ramsey's face, and security had to stand between them, LOL. Oh my. And what is the first thing he does when he gets outside? Lights up a cig. I can't believe how every single contestant is a smoker.

A lot of people that worked with me in restaurant's smoked. Mostly in the back of house.

I can't believe how many people are getting hurt this year. Joseph sure looked like a bitch.

Based on this and previous seasons it appears as if chefs smoke at an incredibly higher rate than the average American.

For a job where cleanliness if pretty important, I'm a little surprised that's the case.

True. I loved it, after the pointless confrontation, when he said "Anybody would love to hire me to work in their restaurant." (Or, something like that.) Delusional, just like those awful American Idol contestants who think that they can really sing.

Based on performance- GR needs to thin the herd considerably to get to the talent... if there is any this season

The women seem especially clueless this year- Lovely, Amanda, Tek and Tennille are just useless.

Either Andy or Van should be the next male to go.

I'd be scared to see Van go. He might actually hit GR.

Robert needs to step it up. He was thrown a life line and he is nearly sinking.

Not only that, but my guess would be it's pretty bad for the palate. That's why I look forward to the episode where the cooks need to identify various foods blindfolded so I can see if the non-smokers (if there are any ) do better than the others.

It's actually very common in the restaurant industry. It's their way of escaping the chaos going on in the kitchen. Even without Ramsay breathing down your neck, working on a line cooking for hundreds of people like that is quite stressful. Smoking is their way of relieving the stress. Sure it's a placebo effect... but it does the trick

Plus, it makes you look cool.

Especially when you combine it with all of the cussing.

I keep hoping I'll see some hair nets in that kitchen, but never do. I also often wonder are they washing their hands properly? I see sweat on their brow, and they just wipe it with anything, including their hands. Gordon needs more A/C in that kitchen.

Well, I guess since it is not a real restaurant they don;t have to wear them, so they don;t. I do notice this season more seem to be using headbands though.

As far as teh heat, I am pretty sure most kitchens are hotter than the chefs would like. It is too expensive/unfeasable to have that much air conditioning.
An AC would be viable if you are serving cold food. That's why in most restaurants the line where food is ready to be taken to the table is heated.

Something was really wrong on tonight's show. The first challenge DIDN'T come down to a tie, or the last dish etc. Robert sure did have a semi meltdown. Anyone else think they might as well just hand Kevin the win, I don't see anyone remotely close to this guy.

Is Kevin the bald guy who broke his ankles? If so then yes I agree. I did like the meltdown, which he carried over to dinner service like the chef mentioned, just maybe a little bit too much.

I wonder how many times Lovely has used that stupid line in her lifetime.

Kevin is the man.

Also, can I get a play by play? that was hilarious.
