Nice! Hope they use something like that.

You know what annoys me, Paramount calling this a Ultimate 3-disc digital copy edition. Paramount is not the only studio that does this and I just hate the misdirection that it implies. It just makes it sound like we are getting 2 special feature disc plus a digital copy when they count the dc as a special feature. I just wish studios would state it more like "2-disc special edition + digital copy." That would just sound better too me. Most of the time I just throw those dc disc away so it will no longer be a 3-disc set for me.

Anyway, trekmovie.com has a preview of the BD from SDCC? It is actually a link to a website where you can preview the BD and DVD: startrekmovie.com/comiccon.

I was never a fan of that art for Abrams Star Trek, ah well. It's the film that's important to me, and now that I just bought a 120gb ipod, digital copies are a plus for me, not a negative as they used to be.

It's simply ridiculous just how excited I am to get this movie on BD. There will be a HUGE movie party at my house that night, with my dad being the super duper uber Star Trek fan, who doesn't have access to the home theater that I have. I'm very excited to watch him enjoy this movie, which I have no doubt whatsoever that he will.

I couldn't give two damns about the cover art (but thanks for posting it). This movie was just too damn awesome for it to matter. Plus, I throw the jacket away every time I take the disc out anyway.

I wish they'd switch the colors. Black background, white exhaust.

Plus dumping the ugly 3 DISC label. It looks like a bad custom job atm

The movie is worth buying for the "going into warp" effect alone.

Well, since I'm "old school" Trek, since I grew up watching reruns of TOS and TAS as a kid, and watching SOME first run of TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT from time to time, I'd have to say that Abrams' movie is actually okay in comparison. Seems to tell the movie more of an action/adventure more than a sci-fi movie, which would have Roddenberry rolling in his grave, but the logic is somewhat there, as far as the making of the TOS crew.

I like the inverted image better. It look more space like.

It's a reboot not just a remake.

The character name are the same, the setting is similar but the story will diverge form what as been made before.

I loved that. BAM!

This is a day one buy for me.

This is the only movie I've ever considered buying locally at midnight if the situation called for it.

We can hope that the digital copy can be played on an iPod... The last couple of movies I got were "windows" digital copies only.

It's an incredibly fun movie. My wife, who is NOT a Star Trek fan, simply can't wait to have it on BD. We have a big movie party planned for that following weekend after it's released.

Just another movie I'm going to wish I had a bigger display to view it on. Day 1 purchase for sure and if I can find it earlier....

There are some movies, this being one of them, where I try to rationlize buying a new piece of a/v gear to celebrate their release. I'm pathetic.

I definitely don't blame your wife on that score. It's great when you guys can get your wives/girlfriends/significant others into Blu Ray!! The added bonus of Captain Fine, Christopher Pine in High Definition can only help.


In all seriousness though, I simply cannot wait until I can buy this title. I absolutely loved this movie, even though I had serious doubts about it. I have no questions in my mind that this movie will be watched numerous times in our household. Even my 5 year old daughter loved it. Sci Fi fan in training!


We happened to be in the south when we saw this movie in the theatre and were able to catch it in a Digital theatre and it looked great. Hopefully that will translate well for the Blu Ray release!
