lots of new upgrades! I will be updating this thread very soon.

Upgraded projector! RIP to my Pioneer I now have a JVC RS20.. I will have pics soon.

Also have a 1.78 masking system on the way.

I just noticed you sold your FPJ1 (which is what I have). If you don't mind my asking, how much did it cost you out of pocket to upgrade to the RS20. And also, how much improved is your picture since upgrading . Thanks!

$200 out the pocket to upgrade!

I got one of the RS20's during the closeout sale from AVS recently.

A lot brighter! Better depth and natural colors. The FPJ1 has some over saturated colors.

It was definitely worth a couple hundred to upgrade.

If you would please PM prices on what you got the RS20 for an what your FPJ1 sold for. I'd jump all over that deal if I could do it now! Are the black levels any better at all and have you noticed any improvement in sharpness?

yes sharper and blacks are better. I haven't gotten to really use the RS20 right now since I am redoing some stuff to my room.

Just surfed on to your theater build page from the JVC help thread. I have to say that your curtain job looks really good actually. No weird ruffles or strange lengths like you see with some guys. Makes it look like a real pro job on the screen wall. Kudos on that one.

Are you going to have your RS20 calibrated? I'd love to but not in the cards for me right now. I tossed in the Rec 709 settings by Manni01 on the calibration thread: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...0#post16662220 with the best luck on mine with the new bulb. I did tweak the brightness up three clicks as he is running his in high mode and I am in normal. For me it definitely added some pop over the THX preset.

Love seeing theaters from guys like you who are still in the same budget ball park as me. Stretching the limits of your dollar. Have a good one.

Thank you! My Grandmother use to work for a curtain sewing company. She is actually the one who made them for me. They came out perfect!

A few updates to my theater.

TSC LCR3 front Speakers
Speaker Stands
Motorized Curtains

I wanted to make the room darker then it was but painting the room all black isn't a option right now. So I have motorized black velvet curtains that open and cover the walls. I have pleased with the results. I will post pics up soon.

Ahhh the A-110...I remember when I first got mine....it was a magical experience...being able to play the movies without the disk biggrin.gif

Switched to an HTPC now biggrin.gif

Good looking theater!
