remote desktop loses video

Thread Starter
Weird issue here. Whenever I remote desktop into my HTPC from another pc it loses video and have to reset the pc to get it back on. Turning the AVR/TV off/on does not help just a No Input on the TV. It happens 100% of the time.

HTPC -Vista 64 buisness
remote in from Win7, and Vista.

Video card is ATI 4350 via HDMI

What happens when you have a PC monitor hooked up. Maybe remote in sets the computer to a PC resolution and your tv doesn't accept it.

I made an logoff.bat file that includes the commands to terminate the RDP session and put the HTPC back to the desktop instead of the login screen. Then it pauses for three seconds and runs the program hdmion.exe. This has worked for me since my Onkyo AVR would often fail to pick up the video. My Harmony remote is set to run the .bat file when switching to the Media Center activity (using IR Server Suite's Translator).

logoff.bat:

@%windir%\\System32\ scon.exe 0 /dest:console
@%windir%\\System32\ scon.exe 1 /dest:console
@%windir%\\System32\ scon.exe 2 /dest:console
ping -n 3 127.0.0.1 >NUL
hdmion.exe
