I ended up ordering 6 pairs from the bay, 1 for $30, 4 for $40, and 1 for $50, call it the sporting event party pack

Where is that from? 6 pair for $240.00?

I bought a used one for $30 on the bay, and another seller had 5 new at a buy now price of $96 (Ebay item #170509941888) each, I offered $50 for 1 pair he said yes, then I offered $40 each for his remaining 4 and he said yes. So yes 6 pairs for $240. They are all sold now

I watched the german edition of Grand Canyon 3D and it really blew me away, the 3D effects were stunning. I crept up to the screen and watched from 2 feet away the water rapid scene and felt as if I got water all over the glasses, this is pretty amazing technology

All,

Is it possible to use an anamorphic lens with the Titan Reference 3D so the full panel resolution can be utilized in 2.35:1 displays. I know you can do 2.35:1 via zooming, but I would like to understand if that is the only option or if the anamorphic is also an option. I am interested for both 2D and 3D content.

Thx
Bryan

Short answer is yes, chris uses an a lens and I am sure he will chime in shortly
post #519 of 712
No anamorphic with frame packed bluray because it uses input 8. It is the highbandwidth input with no scaling. With side by side and top an bottom yes you can because it uses the standard input 3.

chris,

Cool. You need a 5D system. Many would call it 4D, especially in theaters such as the one in Coke museum or at Aquariums like the one in Atlanta. The 4th D is motion chairs and the 5th D is things like a water mister. Can you imagine watching the rapids scene and feeling water mist on your face and smearing up the 3D goggles. And can you imagine porn in 5D?

Chris:

The radiance X line is about to be upgraded to 3d so this may provide a solution to high bandwidth input scaling for input 8, they already have frame packed 3d working in the lab

Really...Thats cool! George is a great guy! I got to speak with him just for a minute at the DPI party at hard rock. George and the rest of the DPI team are incredible. When I took my projector in to have the 3D upgrade, I had the pleasure of spending an hour or so with George and the entire team. I have never had another company be so involved with their customers from the the technicians to the sales reps, all the way up to the VP.

I am so impressed with their products, the diversity of their product line, and the follow thru support. I look forward to a very long relationship with them for years to come!

Have to admit, before I had the 3D upgrade and was using 3D solely from my computer, I had a brief encounter with some 3D porn. It helped me realize that everything in 3D is NOT a good thing.... but then again maybe it was the quality of the content!

That is great news! I really hope I get the ability to vertical stretch my image with frame packed 3D so I can use my anamorphic lens. Mainly because I cant quite fill my 14' wide scope by using ILM.

Keep me posted!!!

He shared with us the 'insight' you shared about the Gaming world for 3D projectors!!

They all were very impressed about the possibilities of getting Dpi more involved with gamers who demand fast video!

I have recently developed HDCP issues between the Radiance and the Titan which I can not solve
post #531 of 712
I cant recall if this has been discussed, but we are using this on the same projector and processor without any issues at all

I have tried everything, including different cables, shorter cables, and the Lumagen HDMI extender. I have not however tried the Cat6 extender.

Jim has been very helpfull but we can't understand the issue as like you said there are Radiance XE in the field working perfectly with the Titan. Jim even sent me an new XE board to swap.

I have tried both inputs on the Titan which use different input cards and same result. The sources howver play fine with HDCP enabled when connected directly to Titan.

Lon. Given that others using the same set up as you can get 3D from Direct TV to work and have no problems with the Lumagen, the only possible thing I can think of is the location of your house and possibly the foundation on which it was built. I think you might try an exorcist to rid your HT of any gremlins. Who knows what may be lurking in your basement. Maybe the ghost of you know who.

Maybe its those aliens in that flying saucer some thought they saw over NYC the other day. Ever try a compass in your HT. Maybe you would find the magnetic needle spinning around. Something weirder than me is going on.

Come on. Crack a smile. The Yankees are on tonight and the Jets are doing great.

Mark:

Its the ****ing gremlins, they come out when I am not home and **** around with everything in my house

3D directv has been up and running for a month or so, the gremlins give me a foot and take a yard
post #535 of 712
I think its the opposite. Everything works perfectly when you are not there. They come out and screw up everything when you are there.

Lumagens' Jim Peterson is the best, we have spent hours trying to trouble shoot the issue, he sent me a full replacement XE board, HDMI extender to try and solve the issue. Yesterday he sent me a full replacement Radiance XE to try along with his Cat 6 extender. I don't know if this will resolve the problem but from Lumagens' end they have gone above and beyond...
Lon, you have that right. In all my years of fooling with this hobby/business Lumagen has been the shining star when it came to support. I love their products partly becasue of that support level. It doesn't hurt that they work so well and have constant software upgrades for free either. I can't recommend them enough.

DPI also has been pretty good with support, albiet a bit slow at times, they have field technicians to try and resolve any problems, but no one beats Lumagen as far as support
