This is the first I ever heard of someone not being totally blown away by a submersive.
Something must be wrong somewhere.
Yes, not being blown away by the SubMersive was a surprise to me as well.
Before the SubMersive I had the SVS PC13 Ultra.
When I switched out the SVS for the SubMersive the first thing I noticed was how well behaved the SubMersive was compared to the SVS.
I chalked this up to new drivers needing a break in period and possibly sealed bass compared to ported bass.
As time went on the SubMersive did loose up a bit but still lacked that visceral, in your face, room shaking, explosiveness I was use to.
Enter the A7s-650.........
A completely different animal, explosiveness is back, room shaking, foundation crumpling, chair moving, in the chest impact.....
Just comparing the drivers of the two give you pause.
The eD drivers look like they mean business, big time.
While the SubMersive drivers look timid by comparison.
And remember the A7s-650 weighs almost twice what the SubMersive weighs.
Don't get me wrong..... I love the SubMersive, for music, but I think a new sub has come along to do more of what I want from a subwoofer.
