<- Edit: Sorry, I see you answered that one above.
When you get around to it, I'd be really interested in your impressions about how the 4311 performs powering the Noesis at "playtime" (or Jeff P demo) volume levels. Only if you feel inclined though!
Also, would there be any reason to re-run Audyssey aside from slight adjustments to speaker trims due to differences (if any) in amplifier gain?
When I switched my Denon 4311 from pre-amp mode back to amp mode, Audyssey was automatically disabled. I assumed i would have to re-run Audyssey, but I didn't even try to simply re-enable it.
And I don't want to. I prefer it off.
As to "playtime levels", I can say that I have gone through 4 or 5 demanding movie scenes at reference and detected no reason to hook the amp back up, the 212's really are that efficient.
For music, up to this point in my listening, the AVR is powering the 212's cleanly to levels that are wholly satisfying to me. I have not tried pushing them to ear ringing levels, but I'm not even sure I want or need it. I almost feel better having the AVR as a volume limiter since it's just way too easy to crank these up to ear damaging levels. I mean it's nice to be able to put the ear plugs in and crank it up to insane levels, but my goal is, and always has been, to have a system that delivers the lowest possible distortion and cleanest sound up to volumes that my ears can handle. At this point, I think the AVR may be able to deliver that, but I still have a lot of listening to do before I can state that definitively.

Well, time to check out a new amp if I decide later I still want one. I have an itch to try something new...
