Carp - you want to go in together?

Success!

That t-nut is mangled to all hell. Anyone know the actual size of the t-nut? Was going to see if home depot had any of them, as well as a new matching screw. Pretty sure the threads in the screw are jacked up somewhat.

pretty easy to bring a good bolt to homedepot and check from that, thank god it was a loose wire somewhere, ever since you posted it, i had to keep thinking back wondering if i ran any kind of sounds that could have possibly blown something up, but i couldn't think of any since i always run way below reference, and never even fed them more then 450w into 4ohms. Now that you have it fixed, i guess you can rerun those movies with a true 5.2, all working speaker setup hah.

I don't know the size, but if you bring the screw you can figure out the size with the sizing tools that they have there.

Someone have listed a pair of S2s on a-gon!

So I've talked with Santando81 about the signs, he told me he's in the process of having an online store that you can just order the signs from. So I don't think there will be a group buy on them.

We could still do a group buy now, so that we can split the shipping up among 5 people. $15 shipping each after shipping them to one person and then reshipping is way better than $45 shipping each.

I think Jeff should order some (10?) an then we buy from him...
I'm in for one of the larger ones and I bet carp would be two for Kansas City. We are both going to Des Moines in April to visit dlbeck and could bring it so that makes 3 for kc.

Santando81, would you let us do a group buy of three to kc? I'll PayPal tonight if so.

That sounds good to me. It is a lot easier than us trying to coordinate shipping among several people.

Yeah ... problem is, he's a little busy.

I would try to organize a group buy, but one of the problems is that I'm located in Canada so I don't know how much people would really save because of cross border shipping.
So I sent santando81 a pm, I'll try to organize a group buy for everyone if we can get enough people in on it. I live close to the border so I could just drive them across the border and then ship them out from a shipping company that I use when I order stuff and have it shipped there and then I bring it into Canada myself to save on courier charges.

I'm in for whatever guys so don't leave me out of any PM's on the subject.

BTW, can you guys PM me the pic that's been going around on PM's? smile.gif

That is the big one from the PM.
I had this one made about a year ago from a 3D sign maker on ebay. It's really nice in person and always get comments. I also had a couple more made. They were about $75 each with shipping. It's all a bunch of pieces of plastic put together and the lettering is raised about 1/4" off the base. can be what ever colors you want.

Damn that is really nice. That makes me wanna get more amps for my stuff, even though it already sounds awesome lol!
So Santano81 said no problem on doing a group buy, I just need to get a total count on what guys want as far as small or large signs. And he can do one large shipment. I can get it sent to me or if someone else wanted to step up and had it shipped to their place I'll get in on the buy with them. I asked him about costs for small and large but haven't heard back just yet.
Hi!

i would send it by www.dhl.de with insurance.

I think i could put up to 7 in one big packet.

Regards

He quoted me 30 euros for the small (22cm x 31cm) and 40 euros for the larger (30cmX45cm) print (plus shipping). I think a group buy with re-packaging/shipping is too much trouble (except maybe for the KS guys) so I'm ordering solo. Thanks again for getting the ball rolling on this Joe. cool.gif

Archaea, dlbeck, and myself are going to do a group buy because we won't have to re-ship anything. Thanks though for the offer jbrown , much appreciated. smile.gif

They are a 6-32 X 1-1/4" SCREW HEX SOCKET HEAD BLACK. With this you need the #6-32 T-nut. Not sure if Home Depot carries these but any fastener supply should. I have some extras but that doesn't do you any good, does it ... smile.gif

The wood around the old bolt hole might be scored by the old T-nut so it may be difficult to get the new one to bite. With the driver out, if you insert the new T-nut and tap it into the wood (I put a little glue on the exterior of the T-nut) . Then replace the driver and hand tighten the new bolt. I would give it time for the glue to set before using an allen wrench to carefully finish tightening. I did this with one of my T-12's and it worked.

No worries on the group buy thing, it makes my life a lot easier if I don't have to organize one!...lol
I just thought I'd offer to get things moving along.

I'm just glad that santando81 was allowed by Jeff to make a JTR sign, it looks great and I know I'm going to order one.

Awesome thank you for the detailed info. I have to hit up HD anyways so I may see if they of them there while there.

On a side note, I think I'm going to put my surrounds in the sideways position instead of upright. About how high is recommended to put surrounds? And since I'm only doing 5.2, I plan on putting them pretty much in line with the seating area as far as where they are lined up with the seating area. Basically like the 5.1 picture on this link if you scroll down.

http://www.thx.com/consumer/home-entertainment/home-theater/surround-sound-speaker-set-up/

They also recommend to put the speakers at least 2 feet above the listening level, but is higher better if I can squeeze it? I also am not sure if I put them too close to the ceiling where they are going (since it's only 6'9") if that will have a negative effect.
