I remember when you first got them you were very impressed but you mentioned that it wasn't that much of a difference from the T12's. I had your impression in mind when I went to hear them for the first time at the outdoor park GTG so I was expecting to hear a sound that reminded me of the T8's which I had heard prior to that.
What I heard that day changed everything (I know.... I sound over dramatic), I went from a subwoofer first to a speaker first guy (that was perfectly happy and not in the market for new speakers) and spent soooo much more than I ever thought I would on audio gear.
IMO many of the perceived performance deltas are most noticeable when the system is playing very dynamic material at high SPL. The biggest difference between the T-12's and the T8's is in midbass capability. You seem to be someone who values midbass and as Jeff has said, the Noesis has less distortion in the mid-high frequencies due to that BMS uber CD and that is probably audible to someone paying close attention. All else being equal, in larger rooms bigger is better.

It made an improvement in SQ and that was justification enough for me plus, I loved the minor challenge of doing the upgrade myself. It allowed me to see the crossovers up close and personal and gain a better understanding of how these things work. But then along comes the Noesis and off I go ...
So, I suppose my answer to your question is bluray movies and concert disks contain the best sounding music on the planet. I like my speakers to be able to handle any dynamic passages that are thrown at them at any volume I can tolerate and, produce dialog and subtle information contained in loss-less audio streams with great clarity and detail. In other words, I want it all. I was very happy with all version of the T12's as LCR's and each upgrade made a difference, The Noesis does everything I care about just a bit better. YMMV
