Also long-time lurker here. I've used the search function and haven't been able to find an answer to a similar question as Chevy2410's.
I've had my HD180 for about 6 months; bought it off Woot last July. I use it as the main display for my desktop and have put probably 1500-2000 hours on it in the last two months.
This morning I awoke to no indicator light and a completely nonresponsive projector. Pressing power on either the remote or the projector body did nothing. I tried multiple outlets and power strips led to nothing.
I found the service manual here: http://easp.optomausa.com/ASP/upload/Service%20manuals/Optoma%20HD20_HD200X_HD2200%20%C3%AF%C2%BC%C2%BFHD20LV_HD21_HD23%20Service%20manual%20v7.0.pdf but the listed fixes ("ensure the power cord is firmly connected on both ends, ensure all connectors are connected, check lamp driver, check LVPS, check main board") aren't very helpful for a hobbyist. I can take most of it apart and identify which parts they are talking about, but I don't see any broken connectors or anything.
Has anyone else had this issue with an HD20/23 or HD180? Is there a relatively easy fix? I'm comfortable ordering and replacing parts if I know what's wrong - I repair desktops and laptops for friends on a semi-regular basis, but don't really understand the internals of projectors - but can't identify the problem here other than "it won't turn on". I presume it's a PSU issue. Any advice aside from "bite the bullet and pay Optoma $120 to repair it" would be greatly appreciated.
