I am trying to decide which sub to pair with my on-order Yamaha YSP-4000 (120W) in my 16'D x 13'W x 8'H 2nd floor room with painted drywall and carpeted floor. The room is square with only a closeable door on a perpendicular wall next to the monitor. My choices are:
- Seaton SubMersive, $2295, box, dual 15" sealed, 1000W, 24"W x 18"D x 26"H, perhaps the best, a sub for life, even if overkill for the YSP
- SVS PC13-Ultra, $1399, cylinder, 13" cone, 750W, 46"H x 16"Dia, superior sound but tall
- SVS PB13-Ultra, $1399, box, 13" cone, 750W, 21"W x 27"D x 22"H, do I really want this thing out in the room 27" plus room to breathe behind it?
- AV123 MFW-15, $699, box, 15", 350W, 18"W x 22"D x 24"H, sound supposedly on par with PC13-Ultra, quite a bargain
- SVS PC12-NSD, $569, cylinder, 12" cone, 325W, 35"H x 16"Dia, shorter than PC13-Ultra, some buyers get a taste and upgrade to the Plus or Ultra, but maybe right for the YSP and my size theater.
