Would It Be Easy To Remove The Screen From A DLP HDTV without breaking anything?

I saw a thread where a guy with an LCD rear projection tv took off his screen and rear projected a 100" screen and it stayed in sharp focus by adding about a foot or so of distance (perhaps the super short throw lens allowed this to be possible), so I'm interested in trying this out, but was wondering if the screen would come off easy and if it could be put back on it if didn't work out.

I'm looking at a Mitsubishi WD65C9 65" C9 Series DLP

Is there anyway you find out if the text/image stays in focus when projected onto a piece of paper from a foot, two feet and further? I really need to know if the image will stay relatively in focus from a distance of 1-3 feet and when it start to loose too much focus. If texts looses a little focus it's ok, as long as it's not blurry. I'd love to know at how many feet away it starts to lose too much focus.

I'd GREATLY appreciate it if you could do this for me sometime when you open it again or if you don't mind just opening it to test this out for me that would be awesome. I'm thinking of plunking down $1,400 for a set to use it as a giant rear projector and I'd hate for it to be a complete waste.

It should expand fine if it uses an optical lens at all like the LCD rear projections sets do. The light output should be fine. The sets are generally very bright even with a lot of ambient light, so 110" on a 1.8 gain dark gray screen should be ok. I tried it with my CRT HDTV, which are the least bright (but highest contrast) and it was decent brightness on my screen with dimmed lights or off. DLP should be ok.

Grrr. I really wish I could find a way to test this out with DLP. I'd much rather not have to go LCD to do it, especially and older LCD. If anyone will test this out for me on a newer 1080p I will pay $5.00 via Paypal!
