No warpage whatsoever...I worried about that too. It has been 3 years now. I have also updated the projector with the JVC RS-40 3D unit...It's a great projector with minimal ghosting...

I just skimmed through this thread - your theater looks fantastic!

And I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but the photos don't do the room justice if you have a photographer friend, maybe you can invite him/her over to take a few pics.

I dont know if you still have them..BUT I love the way you used Yamaha speakers all around and pretty much the same model# and not only that, they are not the normal speakers used around here. Seems everyone has nearly the same speakers or high $$ ones..I like the whole theater.

Believe it or not, I love those Yamahas!... They were designed for home theater and seem to fly under the radar for awesome sounding and very affordable speakers. Folks are always commenting on how great the theater sounds when watching a movie. Plus the money I saved, went in to purchasing a more expensive 3D projector...

I know everyone has the right to get what they want, but honestly you dont have to spend a lot at all to get great sound. I love cerwin vega towers and in my opinion they kill pretty much anything out there ive heard..I would love to hear your theater man..looks great!!

Latest update... Sony VW95ES. This 3D projector is incredible for the price. Had to bust out my jigsaw and cut a curved area above the face of the VW95ES....
The JVC was a perfect rectangle...so my frame insert wouldn't fit the curved higher domed Sony top. Took an hour, but got er done... (Don't worry guys...I cleaned up and re-painted the ceiling where I scuffed it all up...

Very cool, so 3D is worth it?

Great job on this room! Our rooms are very similar in design. What are the dimensions? (post build)

Hi bro!...Long time no see... Yes! definately worth it! 3D is incredible when done right...I had the JVC RS-40 for one year and it was great, but now the new Sony VW95ES takes it up a few notches. I've heard the more affordable Sony VPL-HW30AES 3D projector is quite good too. Happy Holidays!

Thanx.... The dimensions were originally 14 X 26 feet and finished it is 13 X 22 feet. 13ft wide from column to column, and 22ft from acoustic screen to rear soffet (projector housing).

I am not offended in any way...(I suck with a camera)...I really don't care too much about the pictures looking really great...I started this thread so that all of the "do it your selfers like me", could see simple step by step ways to build a cheap theater, and learn from my trials and mistakes.

Thanks for the info. How much space is there behind the screen to the wall? I'm guessing 2ft or so maybe?

Actually, it's about 3 feet...I covered that wall behind the screen with insulation and painted it black...(never got around to taking the pictures)...also, for anyone who buys the Elite acoustipro screen...It has a vertical support in the middle which is aluminum < this needs to be painted black so it doesn't reflect back from the projector.
