for the most part, the 7-blinking RED LED problem can be solved with $3 in capacitors and 45 minutes of work. The 3-6 blinking LEDs has also been diagnosed, though I'm not sure what the fix is.Lots of plasmas fail after thousands of hours of use...if you've had the TV since 2006 and it's used daily just by you (say, at night) then it probably has about 5,000 - 7,000 hours on it. If you have a family and it's on most of the day, then it probably has close to 15,000 hours or more on it.
Parts fail, many are rated only for up to 7,000 hours.
