Ummmmmmm, yeah, I have them all saved on ONE DVR or another. I'll look when I get a chance.

Anyone else notice that the twin that didn't make it then showed up in N.O. and they put him through?

No I think they had a lot of powerful bodies and gymnasts , not sure how good of dancers they are yet. There's a lot more to it than that. At this stage its pretty much a pre race horse judging contest. "Ohh ahh that one looks like it could run fast".

Yes, for all we know many of the super-good dancers that skipped choreography had been perfecting that one solo routine for a year and can't do anything else. Learning choreography and doing it well is different skill. We'll see them explode in Vegas as usual.

I wonder if the judges are sick of hearing that Black Eyed Peas song. I was sick of it months ago.

Maybe it's just me but I haven't found the audition shows to be terribly entertaining. There haven't been many "interesting" dancers and I've even felt that the judges haven't been fully engaged at times. Mary seems almost sedate compared to past seasons. Maybe it will pick up with the Vegas round but so far it's a meh for me. BTW, did Alex Wong come back for this season? The word was that he had and would zoom right through to Las Vegas.

They're over-exposing this show. You'd have to think that the principals, including Mary and Nigel, would be exhausted by the pace of doing two seasons back-to-back, with all the overlap required. Nigel seems more snippy and impatient than usual and Mary just looks tired. Even my man Li'l C has been short on profundity.

Tha really struck me as well. C is actually sort of speaking the King's English. He's either tired, bored or the constant ribbing over his loquacious ways got old for him. Maybe he looked at himself on tape and realized that even he couldn't understand what he was saying

Mary has also been a semi-regular guest judge on SYTYCD Canada which is concurrently running. On one of her recent appearances up here, she was walking very gingerly across the stage because she has a sore back. I am sure that is the main cause of her lack of exuberence.

It's not your parents version of Leave It To Beaver. Can't be too bad if the PTC isn't all over it. Their current description includes "Sexual content is usually limited to some suggestive dancing." Hmmm, I wonder if that will be modified?

With back-to-back seasons, I'm guessing they get a lot higher percentage of repeaters who didn't make last season. So there's probably a lot of "seen-it already" for the judges. I'd be bored seeing the same losers over and over again too.
The first dancer in the New Orleans auditions didn't really dance and I thought he wasn't that good. He didn't deserve going to vegas. Once he's in vegas I hope he gets eliminated quickly since that wasn't really dancing. Choreography maybe but not straight to vegas.

Leave it to Beaver? That's an interesting, if subconscious, analogy.

I skimmed through that DVR recording I had and TOTALLY MISSED IT -- thought you were tugging at our trousers, bPeacock, since you were SO DOWN on Nigel for all his comments last season, and we've been going on and on and on and on and... about Cat -- but NOPE! Ooooops! Then again, that dancer HAD TO know she was likely to show something on an audition where she was DANCING... I think she's an exhibitionist!

Oh I don't think there was anything SUBconscious about it, at all, Spydie!

Ha ha....yah it's on quite a few internet sites now. I'm just like...surely she couldn't have danced like that...it would have come out with a simple twirl. She must have pulled them off to go find out her fate.

I never noticed Nigel's comments till y'all said something, then I noticed and was like, Yah, that's kinda creepy. However, that face he made at the chick the other night was hilarious. I thought he was about to get as ugly as "Dr. Evil" from a couple weeks ago. Ha ha...

I made a similar comment a bit earlier. I agree. Granted, there are lots of dancers being shown to us onscreen (and probably many many more we simply never saw) but I don't have anyone who has stood out to me and that I actually remember... either for especially good looks or especially striking dancing skills!

Last night I noticed one girl with that dyed-red bob hair who seemed particularly attractive, but who never danced on stage (that I saw) and yet who was in a waiting room shot and who apparently was one of the 14 or so on Day 2 who made it through to Vegas. Very quick shots, never in a real segment... how is it possible for us to connect with anyone with this kind of editing? Very strange.

I had a similar observation last season when I just happened to notice Jeanine (#9850) very early on in a random shot, because of her particular good looks and brunette hair and thick eyebrows and thick lips. Otherwise, I'd never seen her dance until she made the top 20!

So who knows how this will all turn out.

I made the same remark to myself last night. It was like she'd been medicated. Didn't look great. Looked exhausted.

We probably missed Nigel. Adam's good, but no true substitute for the show-runner.

I thought I'd read that a while back, but so far he's not appeared. Maybe he'll finally show up in next Tuesday's final audition show.

Yea thats the thing. If Nigel was here that first guy wouldn't have ever went straight to vegas. Thats probably all he knows. Even I could do that dance.

Agreed. Although that part where he did "What NOT to do on SYTYCD" was hilarious!

D, you were SPOT ON so many times last season -- especially with Jeanine (except you KEPT calling her #9850 LONG after it was necessary, lol).

I suspect they ARE "hiding" a lot of the REAL talent in the early auditions just so we won't see it all too soon. Frankly, I think that's a good way to run the program. I mean, think about it... They "profile" a lot of dancers -- personal interviews with Cat, and all -- who never even make it either past the initial audition or past choreography... I haven't kept count, but I'd say the ratio is probably roughly 1-1-1, with a third making it straight through, a third making it after choreography, and a third going home after one or the other... Maybe more like 6-3-3 now that I think about it, with about HALF of those who get the personal interviews not making it through.

As for Mary being more "sedate" and looking tired, consider that they actually did all these auditions DURING last summer's season of SYTYCD, so Mary and Nigel and whoever else were having to FLY to these audition cities during OFF days from the show, on TOP of whatever else they were doing (and neither of those two are "spring chickens" any more) I think I'd have been tired, too! I'm hoping Vegas Week is LIVE -- or at least done SINCE the season ended -- so they aren't so worn out.

Last, I have to take back some of my distaste for Adam Shankman after last night... He was A HOOT! And I also agree Li'l C has been MUCH more professional sounding than I've ever seen or heard him. I, too, wonder if someone took him aside and made him watch and listen to himself. (That's one thing I like about writing -- especially when you can edit, later -- a LOT easier to fix it when you say something ridiculous, lol!)

Last, I've really hesitated to post this, since we seemed to move on from this "theme," but I just can't contain myself any more... I live a little less than 200 miles from Atlanta -- about a 3-hour drive with our 70 mph interstates here -- and when Cat started Tuesday's show by asking what the talent would be like in "the Dirty South" and wrinkled her nose like she did when she said that, OOOOWOOOOOOO -- All I can say is the NEXT time they do auditions that close, I'm going just to see Cat, lol.

It looks like she's been hitting the Botox pretty hard, like she's unable to move a muscle in her face.

Atlanta can have the "dirty South" moniker that was bestowed upon Memphis last season. We don't want it anymore.

I don't know it looks like she was wearing something here.

^^^ Yeah she's wearing nude colored shorts (there's a name for these style of shorts but since I don't want to have to explain why I've been trolling cheerleader uniform sites, I'm going to just call them shorts). They're clearly visible in this other shot. And the shadow lines of the leg holes are clearly visible in the "money" shot.

As usual, Perez Hilton wouldn't know the truth if it crawled up his ass and died there. Hopefully he's really stepped in it this time. Unlike the celebrities that he usually slanders, this girl isn't a "public figure" and shouldn't have to prove malice. Hopefully she'll get a good lawyer and get a nice 7 or 8 digit punitive damage award out of Perez.

In his defense, the truth is likely not the first thing to crawl up Perez Hilton's ass and die.

I don't think this works as well as a regular season show. One hour, one night a week (well, two nights this week)--too many weeks of auditioning and it's still not done. If I wasn't already a fan I'd have stopped watching. Wonder how it's doing in the ratings?
