My firmware when booting shows 7.0.5... I hear everyone talkin about 7.3 or 7.5 firmware.... Are you guys just omitting the 0 and shortening the firmware or am I horribly outdated?
ok so out of the box my Harmony 900 firmware was 7.05.... I plugged it in and ran an update... and now it is using 7.04... why did the Harmony downgrade my firmware??

Don't feel alone, when I got my replacement 900 after the first one began loosing the black rubber coating on the bottom, I did a Firmware update and I noticed that the firmware had gone from 7.05 to 7.04

I am trying to get into the OSD of a NAD T743 but the 900 database does not have an Enter key. I don't have the original HTR-2 remote that comes with the NAD. Per the manual it states.....Press any of the HTR 2 remote's central cursor keys and [Enter]) to display the T743's main menu on your video monitor/TV. Any workaround for this?
Has anyone successfully used the 900 with a NAD remote?
Started a new thread but no ones replying so I will try one last time here.

"I recently purchased a NAD T743 without the remote. Pictues of the NAD remote show a big Enter button on them. The Harmony database does not seem to have the Enter key. I need the button programmed to my 900 in order to get into the OSD of the NAD and set everything up. I tried choosing different NAD model numbers in hopes if finding the Enter key with no luck. I find it kinda strange that the use of one of the more important buttons is not in the Harmony database. Does anyone here have a NAD with the 900 and successfully figured out how to get into the OSD of the NAD?"

Thanks everyone.

Thanks everyone.

Have you checked the database, by putting your Harmony remote in device mode, selecting your NAD device and tested the commands on the LCD screen, it may be called OK or Select, instead of Enter.

Yes. There is a select option which I have also tried but no luck.

rehaz1. When I checked the 900 again all the commands for the hard buttons where blank. Not sure why that happened. All the touch screen commands where still intact. Setup hard buttons again and gave it another shot. Voila! Worked just fine getting into the OSD screen when using Select key. If you hadn't said anything I might have wasted a few days trying to figure this out! Thanks!

Glad I was able to help

Thank you for the response. I am being really stupid and getting frustrated with this, but where do I go to change the power setting?

Devices, Your Device, Settings, Adjust Power

Thank you so much. I thought I went through every option, but I think I missed that.

Well.....I guess I'm an idiot. I still can't get zone 2 to work properly. I created an activity called zone 2. When I set it up, it has av receiver zone 2 on, with the power on/off instead of power toggle (I think). I can get zone 2 to turn on, with the radio on. But, I can't get zone 1 and 2 on at the same time. It's either one or the other. Also, I tried to set up the soft buttons to change inputs when zone 2 is on and no luck there either. Maybe all this is just too far over my head. Time for some Amstel Light to help ease the pain

You need to create an activity which has both zones as seperate devices.

What appears to be happening is that when you try to go to the activity for zone 2 smart state believes you want to exit and shut off the equipment used in zone 1. So if you create an activity Zone 1 & Zone 2 smart state should understand that you want to keep zone 1 on when entering the z1z2 activity and not send a power off command when exiting the z1 activity. Smart state keeps track of the status of your devices based on the activities which you enter and exit.

What you need to do if you want to leave Zone 1 on when you start Zone 2 is to tell the zone 2 Activity to leave unused devices on and vise versa for Zone 1 Activity if you also want to start Zone 2 then also start Zone 1 Activity and leave Zone 2 on.
Good suggestion, the only problem with that is that you can't specify which activity you want to leave the devices on for, it would leave those devices on, no matter which activity you were entering and wouldn't shut off unless you hit the off button.

Alternatively you can hit off first then go to the wanted activity if the receiver is no longer being used or switching back to a single zone.

I just bought a HR900. I ve added my Marantz AV8003 as receiver. The remote works fine in IR mode but when I try to send command in RF mode (yes the blaster is in perfect sight of the AV8003) it does not work/respond at all.

All my other components work fine in RF mode via the blaster (or mini-blaster).

ps. RF enhanced options is also set up ok (I tried both standard and blaster but no result either)

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Did you set up the receiver to be an RF device? It's easy to forget because you are not stepped through like you are during initial setup. I think you FO that via the options menu.

jep, checked and double-checked

Sanderdvd,

two things:
Did you call Logitech support (if you're still under the service period)?
Does the Harmony support that AVR? (I ran into this issue with my old Pronto remote and IR devices. Newer IR devices were using commands outside the range of the Pronto, so I couldn't control them without getting a newer remote that had a wider range of IR band. Same could hold true for RF in this case.)

Oh and a third thing, did you try using the Harmony to "learn" from the original remote?
I'm looking for just one additional mini blaster. Anybody have one they're not using?

or

Do any other Harmony mini blasters (non-900) work with the 900's main blaster? What about other brand mini blasters? (I know I'll need an adapter for these)

Thanks!

dual head IR emitter for HR900

Try this. Also view "seller's other items"
he has a triple head "visible" IR version as well.
These are the units I use for my HR900.
GlassWolf, thanks for the link.

Are those just emitters? I'm looking for something that will "blast" the signal from proximity rather than something that I have to put right on top of the device's IR eye. I see he has some items called blasters. Do you know if those will do what I want?

Thanks!
erik, just 2 bucks for the part your looking for straight from logitech. Heck, the main blaster is only 10 bucks.

Last 2 items on the link.

oman, is that right? How can they be that cheap?

The RF extender system (main blaster, power cord, & 2 mini blasters) for the 900 is $100: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/remote...s/devices/6228

I know it seems unreal!! But I believe someone here ordered it to be sure it was what they needed and it was. I'll see if I can find the posts and link back to it here, I had just wished that they were compatible with my 1100...

Edit: Hard to believe but here is someone's experience and someone telling someone else about it earlier in the thread...

Wow. Thanks for digging up those posts.

I guess I'll go ahead an order it.
