Please help choose TV Stands :)

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the forum and would really love some advice about building my new home theater system. I just bought a new 52 inch SONY and want some advice on which stands to choose from. I'm leaning towards BDI even though they're more expensive (but worth it!) and choosing between the following:

http://www.standsonline.com/Free-Shi...sini-8629.aspx

http://www.standsonline.com/Free-Shi...sini-2823.aspx

I really want a black stand and am going for that sleek look in the room overall. This website has free shipping and no tax and my friend ordered from there and his stand looks great so I'm going to give it a try. Let me know what you think!

Hi Jean, I looked at all 3 cabinets and I would purchase the 2823. It gives you 4 more inches in height for components. I find that being able to accomadate the height can become an issue before the depth or wiegth. Great selections by the way.

Thanks for your thought because I like that one too. I didnt really think height was going to be an issue but now I'm worried. I have 11 foot ceilings if that helps so everything should fit....?

I owned the 8537 model for over a year ... very well built, beautifully made ... extra shelves are available if you need them.

The only downside (and I am not sure if this applies to the other models) is that it was a pain to move if I had to change a component / check wiring ... the rails it has have small wheels which only allow you to move the unit front or back ... moving it sideways requires more effort because of this.

I ended up changing to another type of stand which has casters to allow easier access ... this may not be an issue in your situation.

I have had a good experience with racksandstands.com. Good selection, prompt delivery, easy to navigate site.
