which of the 4 choices?

Hey guys,

I have a bonus program through work and I have a choice of 4 tvs. They do not give the model numbers but by plugging descriptions into google I think I have narrowed down the model numbers to the brands. Any input would be appreciated. I am not a die-hard movie watcher but I do play xbox 360 and watch sports. I currently have two 32" sharps that I won last year. The new tv will be the main tv in my living room. Here are the tvs that I believe are my choices

Plasma:

samsung PN50B550

Lcds:

sony bravia 46s5100

samsung ln46b550

sharp aquos lc46e77u (questionable on model number?)

So, those are the panels. Once again, thanks for any input

I was think either that one or the Sharp since the Sharp has 120hz for gaming? And plasmas are not good to have for gaming correct?

Yeah, but with Sharp's banding problems and quality control issues, why on earth would you recommend a Sharp?

Don't know nearly anything about the tvs, hence the reason I tracked this place down.

Being that you are the only response Ill take that as everyone agrees or does care too much haha.

Samsung seems like its a good one, only wish I could add some cash to them and upgrade the "prize". Though the extra 4" from the plasma is pretty enticing.

Apparently I have another option as well for tv choices, the TC-P46G10

so that would make my choices look like

Plasma:

samsung PN50B550

panasonic TC-P46G10

Lcds:

sony bravia 46s5100

samsung ln46b550

sharp aquos lc46e77u

A couple of things that you might consider. Game lag may be an issue with the LCD that you choose, if gaming is an important aspect to you. I believe most Samsungs have a fairly high lag. The Plasmas will likely be less suscepible to this, but if you are playing for extended sessions, Image Retention may be an issue, although temporary it can be irritating. The Panasonic will likely be least susceptible to TIR, but not immune to it.
The Plasmas would be better suited to a darker light controlled environment, the LCD's, depending on their screen type, better in bright glaring conditions. LCD's generally have a narrower viewing angle than plasma, so as a living room display you should consider where the family members will be sitting. Those well off axis may see reduced contrast and muted colors. BTW I agree, Sharps quality control and customer service would put them at the bottom of the pack IMO too.
