CNet already did, and visually, there wouldn't be a difference since it's the same configuration.

I almost added the firmware question but was afraid I may get attacked since the bitstreaming doesn't make a difference remarks have been all over the place. Didn't want to test my luck!

I read the Cnet review but there are some discrepancies in the review. Since the Slim uses a different Blu Ray drive I believe? I was wanting to hear others opinion and I seen no mention on the bitstreaming of audio.

A couple of ads for the slim they're running in the UK. One focused more on games and the other on the all-in-one angle.

Hey everyone. Picked a 120gb slim at Best Buy this morning. Hooked everything up but I am running into a Bitstreaming problem. I made sure all of the audio formats were selected in the audio settings. I then changed the audio output settings to Bitstream under the system settings. When I play a movie and choose the TrueHD or DTS HD Audio track, it displays PCM Direct on my receiver and no audio plays. I have never had this problem with any other player before. I am currently using a Sony bdp-s560 and it Bitstreams fine. Should this work out of the box or will it work when firmware 3.00 is released? Help and thanks!

@mrkalel - that looks nice, but from the pictures it appears that the TV is very high. Is it angled down like that for viewing on a bed or something? The reflection on the Tv looks like a couch? Or is it just the angle of the picture?

with the height of the Tv as well as the speakers, it seems like the sound would be going way over your head and you would be staring up at quite an angle to view the set.

Yea, I have a high bed.. And its angled so that is comfortable to watch lying down / sitting up in bed... As for the sounds.. It works great actually.. Doesn't go over my head at all... I did a mic Audessey setup as well

Not according to CNet. He must be doing something wrong. If bitstreaming of the HD codecs was not enabled yet, his receiver would display the legacy codecs (regular DTS/DD), not LPCM.

It also comes with fw 2.8 in the video. When game boots...you seem to lose the Playstation 3 logo and sound as well. Anyone elso notice...why, why buy a new piece of electronics and put it in area that you haven't dusted yet? That's just asking for trouble, nevermind that it sitting essentially on the floor.
