Help on Ceiling - Acoustical treatment?

This is my ceiling. I would like to do some sort of foam on it rather than just paint it black. Hopefully something with some good acoustical properties.

The ceiling is 11' wide and total SF is 280sf. I like to get something at $1/sf or less than could be nailed/caulked/glued to the ceiling.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

The above is ~$250 for 48 sf. I'm looking for something like that but much cheaper.

You could cover it with acoustical panels. One inch linacoustic covered in your choice of GOM fabric. Would run you about $1.5 sq ft for the fiberglass and fabric, on top of that you would need wood frames, furring or Fabricmate fabric track channel.

There are other commercial alternatives for covering ceilings with foam and fabric. These videos are worth watching about the Owens Corning ceiling sound treatment system Solserene.
