8:13 just want to let you know I am watching the whole movie and not just certain frame by frame. Your last scripts are great with all types of files and feel that you
have allowed people that is more concerned with the whole movie experience on a
a 10ft screen artifact free playback. I sit 11ft back from a 10ft screen so it is
important to me not see artifical artifacts. On a small monitor all the scripts look
good from all the forum members your last couple I am nit picking at best. I think
Petit Dragon does fine work and use his simple script for 1080P playback but is less
than ideal for 720p playback on a 10ft screen. I will refrain from being excited in the
future but the best script for my screen situation have been yours for some time
because from a PPPPPPQ nut stand point and I appreciate that (big smile)The
only reason I use hpad 8 is it has a nicer effect on my screen. Like I said mode 3 script would be better yet but fast moving scenes need to be quieted down a bit and slow is perfect. post 271 very good!

Had a chance to play around with all the parameters of this script and like you
said some blockiness. Change 1,18 and to mode 2 and is the best script to date
on my setup. Mode 3 a little better except for weird motion vectors every once
in awhile. Went back and fourth with 2,16 and 1,18 made the script even better.
Couldn't get Mflow to work yet but am going to try 2,18 and to see it
is better then the mblock script but I can't stop watching the movie.

8:13 tried the script but don't have enough cpu what cpu are you running?update
to my previous post pans are smooth and very clean picture. Took Gradfun out
and picture was not good. I have no idea about it either but Pettit used
it and it seems to work. Been reading about it on Doom9. Your new script looks
great but as soon as there is motion in it I get stuttering . I'm happy with what
I got but afraid I will need to get more horse power! Amazed by the gains this
past week.

Looks good prefer over Mblock.

Look forward to testing the mblock. Got the avisynth,filters switched over
and mflow was looking good last night. Nice having an almost automated install.
I have smooth playback with filter=3 but not enough cpu at 4 and 2 had to
much blurring. I am getting good at what to change.

Before you updated sw kit and plugins, I tried to use your last 3 scripts with a I7 860 @3.52 but, even if the CPU usage is near 50-60% and none of the 4 fisical cores (and the 4 logical) reaches the saturation, there is an audio delay that goes from 2 to 4 seconds!!!
I don't know what kind of CPU could manage those scripts...
I thought I'd try to use madVR (changing the output from RGB32 to YV12) to reduce CPU usage, but I got a Macrovision error and I don't know how to manage it...??!?

For now, the following is the best scrip I saw in my configutation (NEC XG 110 CRT Projector on a 120" screen, Windows 7 Ultimate, MPC-HC with EVR and an ATI 4850 HD):

The strange thing is that I can't see notifiable changes in image quality when I change pnew value from 5 to 800, so I left 300... I would just like to have some more sharpening from this script (now I'm using the MPC-HC Sharpen Complex 2 shader to have it).

I tried also to use the upper script on a Blu-Ray, but I got stuttering and continuous audio interrupts (this means the CPU doesn't support the scrip load), so I use the following script that works without any problems on BD with H264-AVC1 codecs:

8:13 I figured out changing the thSCD1= to 1 I can run blksize to 8 with
perfect playback on my cpu (sharp,smooth,fast,no artifacts) 720p or blksize 16 SCD1 to 60. The script
has not been tried with hpad 18 and vpad 11. I would think your Mflow
script on the first post would work with your cpu adjusting SCD1. I just
kept adjusting the settings until I got the correct playback for my system.

Important note:
In the codes above I included this code: convertfps(29.976)
What convertfps does is correct what ffdshow does wrong.
What ffdshow does wrong is it plays the video back at the wrong speed, and this makes the video jerky every few frames.

What convertfps does is it makes the video run at the real fps speed the video is. So if your in Pal or Europe the changefps value would be 25: convertfps(25), if you have a mkv at 23.976 fps the you would set it to convertfps(23.976).
All NTSC DVD's I own I play from the disk and they are 29.976 fps, so the default value of convertfps in my codes is to what I would use when I watch my NTSC dvd's from the disk.

You can test this by using a frame doubler code and playing your video and with NO convertfps code, then pause the video and framestep the video. Do this for about 10 frames, the video will jump forward every few frames.
Then try with convertfps set to the framerate of the video and when you framestep it will be smooth with no jerky frames, like dominos tumbling."


Look forward to trying the scripts out and that is exactly what I have seen and then try to figure out how to make it work without the jerkyness.

No way... Even if I used your new sw kit and plugins, with my I7 860 @3.52 GHz, 8GB of memories and an ATI HD 4850, I was not able to play your scripts without stuttering and and/or audio delay.

Furthermore, I got a lot of ghosting around the people on the screen when one of them passes (i.e. walking from left to right) over something that rapresent a vertical line (i.e. a corner of a building, a pole, ecc. ecc.).

The only script that minimize this artifact (but it's not perfect yet) on 2.50 meters of screen base is still the following that I'm using with this parameters:

Try Corel WINDVD 2010 ALL2HD filter and compare it with the scripts.


In the web you can find a great number of the scripts... Have you found one that works without shuttering?
I found, but many things depend from the configuration and media software players...
You need to start from a clean installation of the Windows and basic softwares and tools!
For example same scripts could work fine with Media Player Classic and doesn't well in Zoom Player (in my system often, and all scripts don't work in MPC-HC, never )

mflow scripts at higher settings! Look forward to trying your new

ignore pull down is what I selected in ffdshow. I like the mblock and mflow scripts
but it say's I don't have enough memory and I have 8 gig with only 4 commited? I seen you updated your info. At 43% cpu script seams smooth 3D.
I forgot sadx264=8 works with AMD 6 core. Don't know what this means but enjoying your script.

What really changed are the colors in the images, due to the different color space used (YV12 instead the full RGB): who makes the convertion now (previously was FFDShow by checking "high quality RBG convertion"), the video card and the "RGB full 4:4:4" drivers setting?

So, if I'll decide to definitively use madVR, I'll have to change the CRT projectors color settings...!!!

Now madVR works fine on my rig just repeated three time the procedure...

I tried to use madVr instead of EVR but, in a normal vision of a film, I didn't see improvements in picture quality to justify a re-calibration of the color settings of my CRT...!!! With EVR the standard DVDs looks really great (almost HD), the CPU usage is around 20-30% and fluidity is perfect!!!

I'm just disappointed that using the same script for Blu-Rays I got stuttering even if the CPU usage is around 45%, and stutterings remains also if I try to use madVR, so I'm quite sure that it's not a weak CPU problem... Any idea??!?

With this I got only one issue: sometimes it loose his fluidity as it loose the vsynch connection" and starts to stutter (I don't know how better describe what happens, but displaying the vsynch on the screen shows the vsynch line moving like crazy out of the target)! I simply have to right click > filters > ReClock > hit OK and video becomes perfect again (and the vsynch line remains stable into the two target lines).

It may happen 4-5 times at film: very annoying when it happens in a "pathos moment" of the movie and - most of all - when you know that the same script works perfect on SD DVDs!!!

i have struggled in the past to get to grips with ffdshow but all you guys cant be wrong especially as i willnow need to use MPC-HC.
however i have failed to get a decent picture oyut of it that will compare with something like TMT or PDVD using their enhancment tools. so what am i doing wrong or is it just a case that you use it cos ffdshow is free? also i have no need to use the audio codec.

so here is my question:
wothout going too complicated what do you use to acheive the basic sharpen and denoise that will imrove pq to that of the mainstream players

8:13 tried the sharpener filter but didn't pan out. On the bright
side MPHC has been working great and the new coreAvc 2.51,cuda,
madvr combo.

I have 8 gig of memory wouldn't I want to set that value higher? And
if so why does it make a difference.

I have been running your mflow script for a week the
only thing I run different is (2,12) and sad-x264=6 and works great.

Look forward to using the new script filter!

I hope this new filter will allow 1080P playback as well.

Also setmtmode(5,0) on the new script based on the leveling feature?
