Soundbar Suggestion for Great Room (with pics)

Hey all - I'm looking for recommendations for a soundbar for the great room of a home that I'm currently having built. The room is 17'x25' with one wall of sliding glass doors (see attached pics for reference - faces of random people in the model blurred out). The TV will be placed on the light green wall where the plant is.

I'm not an audiophile, but I do appreciate a decent sounding system.
I would like it to sound "full" but not "tinny". For example, I felt that the Sony HTCT100 sounded tinny.
It will be used mostly for watching television, an occasional movie or Wii game and listening to music through an iPod or on the digital cable music stations.
Would prefer virtual surround over stereo, but do not need full surround sound.
The TV is a 55" Samsung LCD.
I have a Yamaha receiver with an iPod dock, but it doesn't necessarily need to be used with the soundbar.
I will be connecting a DVD player, HD Cable Box, and the TV.
*wife does not want to use the current Bose 601 tower speakers, so that's why I'm looking at soundbar options*

Apologies for the pictures. They are from two different homes, but the same floor plan.

Since you already have a receiver, I would look at either the Polk Surroundbar 50 or even better, the Definitive Technology Mythos SSA-50. If you read reviews, the SSA-50 is the best sounding soundbar on the market, but the surround will not compete with the Yamaha YSP models. However, it seems like this is not a priority for you, so I'd go with the Mythos. Check Amazon as they have good prices on both of these, especially the silver model of the Mythos.

Keep in mind with either of these models you will need a separate sub for bass. If you want bass IN the soundbar and can't do a sub, you could get a ZVOX 425 and sell off your receiver.

If you are looking for true surround sound out of a single component the YSP-4000 from Yamaha is pretty much the best thing available with 5 discrete channels that can each be aimed individualy and optimized for just about any room. Add a subwoofer to it and you'll get full, warm sounding rage with good accuracy. It also takes the place of your reciever so you have one less component to hide.

If you want to continue to use the Yamaha reciever you already have I'd recommend the Atlantic Technology FS-5000. I've listed to a lot of different sound bar products and have not heard a better one.

For a good sounding product that will truely disappear you could go with the Artison SB-1. This a quality sound bar and Artison will custom make the grille cover to match the width of your samsung tv exactly so the speaker looks like a part of the television.

Thanks so much for your replies! I will definitely look into each of the options.
