It's probably the safest way to buy it at the moment being as the box set looks completely different.

Got mine from Play.com today and I can confirm that it is the remastered version... This is simply just the 2-disc release, and not the Gladiator / Robin Hood package. Its still in the 2 for £18 offer, so you might want to look at that.

Pics below.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Ben.

8 weeks out and I have not received my replacement disk. Sorry to those who are annoyed by my posting about it, but I was just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience? I've called and called, and they just keep "sending messages" with my contact info to the responsible people at Paramount, or so they claim.

They tell me someone will call me back in 48 hours, which hasn't happened in the 3 weeks I've been following up.

I got mine back in about a week. 8 weeks seems WAY too long.

Same here. Sent mine in on 7-30-10 and nothing still. Called so many times I've lost count. Looks like you and I are the unlucky ones. I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy another copy. Not at all pleased with Paramount's customer service.

anyone? i tried emailing amazon and they said they only have new stuff, which is totally not what i was asking lol.

If the UPC in the upper right hand side of the back of the case is white but the words "2-Disc Set" are missing from directly above the white Paramount logo in the very bottom right of the back side of the BD disc case cover art (don't use the slipcover as a sure-fire indicator, some remastered copies retained the old slipcover yet most remastered copies also had the "2-disc set" removed from the slipcase as well) it is a remastered copy. I think these were the earliest iterations of the remastered package and are no longer being used, you're not likely to find this version still in retail circulation. Old, unfixed copies will have the phrase "2-disc set" right above the logo on the back. Amazon moves a whole crap ton of stock so they're not likely to have either of these versions.

If the UPC in the upper right hand side of the back of the case is yellow it is a remastered copy.

I think at this point pretty much all of the remastered copies are coming with yellow UPC's, so they aren't tough to spot.

Thought it would be safe at this point to order disk from Amazon expecting I'd receive the remastered version. What I got was the yellow barcode label, no '2 disk' wording above the Paramount logo on the outer dust sleeve, BUT it does have the wording on the inner clamshell. Copyright 2010 in very small type font to the left of the Paramount logo. #11111019853 bottom right corner. Can I assume I have the remaster?

Yeah, I'd say it's almost certain you do given the yellow UPC.

Flip the disc over (disc itself, not case) and look at the tiny number string on it's face right along the inner ring. Does the number string end in B1R1 or B1R2? If it's B1R2 it's the remaster.

I can confirm the copy I received from Amazon (3 days ago) came with the Yellow UPC code and was the remastered disk. The data side of the disk had codes BDVL-103860B1-3 followed by BVDL 103860A1-1, which have also been confirmed as being only on the remastered disk. I did do a comparison to the images online and they too confirm that I do have the remastered disk.

So I think its safe to order from Amazon.com now.

Actually, a bunch of people have mentioned finding a NA13081B1R1 coded disk on Yellow UPC coded packages. These were all found in Canada however. The individuals did say they were pretty sure it was the remastered disk. One person even confirmed with Paramount, and they said it had been confirmed it was the correct discs that shipped to Canada, and the number did not matter, it was the yellow upc code that was the thing to look for.

Seems strange to be sure.

EDIT: The person called Paramount again and apparently the other person they called was wrong. So there are disc's going out with Yellow UPC codes with the old discs. At least in Canada.

Thanks very much for this confirmation. I placed my order and it arrived today. A stunning looking Blu-ray. I never purchased the old disc. I think we can all agree it looked horrid and Universal should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for ever letting it be released. A shameful situation they have clearly yet to learn from in the grand scheme of things.

For those still looking for the remastered version...I placed my order through Amazon.UK on November 17th. To my surprise, it was in my mail box today. I paid £8.50 for the BR and £3.08 for shipping (regular). Came out to $19.11 total. Great deal and delivery was fast.

I also ordered it on that day (came to ~$20.40AUD). Hoping it gets here this week. So I guess it had the PocketBlu logo on the back of the case?

Anyone notice the guy in the pink anorak at 3 mins 15 secs. I'm positive this wasn't warrior attire during the period...lol. He's in the tree line off in the distance behind Russell Crowe. Guess this is one of the problems with a high def print.....

So is it safe to say if you can see the "guy" at 3:15 in, you have the remastered copy?
No. People have noticed these mistakes since DVD and probably since the theater.

Did anyone else order this for dirt cheap from Newegg over the Thanksgiving sales? Just a warning, I got mine yesterday, and of course it's the old disc. Maybe that's why it was so cheap

I ordered from Newegg last week. I have yet to receive it.

Didn't someone say that you could get it exchanged for the new remastered disc?
