I wonder if Paramount knows that Canadians have the internet too.
Seriously this is inexcusable, it's been like 9 months since the recall and the latest shipment to a Best Buy in a big city like Toronto still has the flawed version. And to go to the trouble of distributing new packaging and intentionally passing off all the old copies as new and hoping no one would notice is pathetic. If this was a shipment from 6 months ago then I can understand the screw up but for current shipments to have the old disc means it was done intentionally.
Going to get my money back from Best Buy. Screw Paramount, I'm not giving them any of my money, not even for the price of a stamp to get a replacement disc.
damn that's frustrating! I didn't bother trying to get it directly here in Montreal, considering the expert dumbasses from Bestbuy, Futureshop or HMV have no clue whatsoever what they're selling. Looks like your Paramount guy is just as clueless.
As you may have seen in the other thread, I got mine from amazon US a few weeks ago, with white UPC and B1R2 btw. It *IS* the remastered version (I now own both so it's easy to compare). You can see it right from the beginning, the very first images during the opening titles... I'd say go the amazon route...
...all this cause Paramount doesn't want to admit they screwed up the first version
