It took 3 weeks. Got the remastered version in return. Looks stunning.

So, just to be clear....

If I buy the region-free version from Amazon U.K., it will be the correct, remastered Blu-ray?

Otherwise, I take my chances buying the Region 1 Blu-ray with the yellow UPC sticker....right?

I know there's various combo-packs, too (Robin Hood/Gladiator, Braveheart/Gladiator etc.,) that supposedly have the remastered version, but I really just want to get Gladiator for now.

Thanks!

Purchase the combo pak to be sure. For $20 its worth it.

I'm going to need to do this at least fifty-eight more times.

Thanks for the info.!

Just learned yesterday that the remastered version of Gladiator was already made. Thanks to this thread I found out that the best way to get the remastered version was to purchase the Braveheart/Gladiator combo. Thanks!

Best Buy and maybe others are selling Gladiator in a red "100 Years of Movie Memories" Paramount box. Inside it is the same Sapphire Series case and whatnot. I picked up a copy earlier in the week and just confirmed that it is the remastered copy. Just though I would pass the info along.

Just to confirm, if Gladiator has the yellow UPC code, it's the remastered? Just picked it up from Best Buy.

Where can I still get the combo for around $20?

I think earlier in the thread there were reports of people getting a copy with the yellow UPC but still getting the old version. The only way to be sure is to check to see if the disc says "B1R2" on it.

FWIW, I just bought the Gladiator 2 disc set from Best Buy for $9.99. The packaging is a confusing combination of remaster (or lack thereof) tells: Yellow UPC code, 2 Disc Set" IS above the Paramount Logo on the bottom right insert, "lighter" gray colored discs...

As it does have the "B1R2" designation on disc 1, I guess I can assume its the remastered version, and I guess I'll know for sure when I get a chance to view it smile.gif

I can't find it on their website. Can you post a link and/or a pic for the 2-disc version you got?

I ordered it online & picked it up in the store same day.

Amazon has the same price, btw.

Okay, I'm confused again.

I believe this is the remastered version as I compared the screencaps of the old and new and my disc appears (to my eyes anyway) to be the fixed version.

I own the version above. BVDL-103860B1 8. It is a gray colored disc. Yellow UPC. 2 Disc Set above the Paramount logo. But since it isn't coded B1R2 I should assume it is the 'bad' version?

Where does it say this is a "2-disc set"? If it is, what is on each of the 2 discs?

I'm confused because I *can* find a 2-disc "extended edition" set but it appears to be some sort of international disc:

Both versions of the movie are on disc 1, and the special features are on disc 2.

I ordered from the link I showed you, and was given the 2 disc set when I picked it up.

Product description at Amazon: "The two-disc set also will feature over four hours of bonus material."

Thanks--I might have found that link, but didn't look closely enough (given the cover says nothing of the 2-disc aspect).

Naturally it's not on sale any more. But now I know to watch out for it! redface.gif

All right guys. I know this is an old thread but it's about time I replace my original DVD copy of "Gladiator." Can someone point me to a link to buy the Gladiator Blu-Ray (the good quality remastered one) at a decent price? Any help is appreciated.

Bought mine at Costco, Canada for $9.00 about two weeks ago. Started to read this long thread from the beginning. Just now jumped to the last few pages of this saga. Happy to see a new version was released and that the one I picked up was the new one.

$13, good deal. Especially since it should be the new transfer.
Is this the new version?

Any way to tell? Or are they all good transfers now since it was so long ago?

Why not go for the saphire series which is $5 cheaper? you shouldnt receive a "bad" copy now since its been so long,,Ive seen weirder things happen though..

Hi Guys

Can anyone tell me if I can still send the disc 1 back to paramount so they can send me the remastered copy. Bought the sapphire series at best-buy last night but the video quality is DVD.
