I just have no frame of reference with Marantzs. I am like a little kid walking into the middle of a move donnie.
If you say so, then imagine how I may feel, when I can only rely on what users can comment, sometimes (reasonably) defending what they bought instead of saying what they are not too satisfied with.
Your comparisons in BD players test comparisons and now on some receivers may help me make up my mind on what to buy.
My limitations are many, particularly on price if I don't want to pay high custom taxes when I bring them back to Brazil, where I live.
After that comes reliability concerns, and the comments on the Onkyo poor support sound really bad. Perhaps I should tag them out.
My options until now have been the Marantz 6003 and the Denon 2310, and it's difficult to make up my mind on which way to go.
The other limitation is my plasma screen, which is 720p, I can feed 1080p o 1080i to it, but it will downconvert it. How that downconversion will look is a mystery.
On the BD players, despite my preference for the Oppo BD83, I will have to choose between the Pioneer 320 or the LG 390. Customs reasons too.
