Performance-wise, the 3800 reads a lot like a 1080p HC3000.
Perhaps the biggest differences are the (rated) brightness, zoom lens and (supposed) lamp-life.
Interesting that the DarkChip2 and 3 are now mostly gone from around this pricepoint.
I dare say that a run-out Benq W5000 may well be a better buy...
