Maybe your receiver is doing processing that it shouldn't? I doubt it is the projector. It's just a display device.

The problem Im having is when my projector is connected via HDMI to my home theatre pc. In windows, on the desktop for example, I have a bit of a mouse lag when moving it around the screen. When I set the resolution to 1920x1080 60hz its a little better, but playing blurays its set at 24hz and lag is more noticeable.
I dont have a reciever, its a pc and has all the updated gfx drivers etc. Cant figure it out.

Now you need to list all the Blu-rays that don't look great on your projector.

Really? Why?

(I'm not a netflix user, so excuse my ignorance if this is a known issue)

Geez hope not! Its already new i5, new gfx and 12gb ram. Its disappointing I get this issue.

So different question then, does anyone have a projector plugged into their PC and all is working fine?

I watched few movies on my laptop and appeared fine though I connected vga, not hdmi.

I use an HTPC @ 1080p with no issues via HDMI.

Radeon 5750 OC'd to 5770 clocks

Hi all,

I'm having a problem with my HC3800. When I'm watching tv, the projector will randomly shut down. I have my cable box connected via component to my receiver (problem existed when i had the cable box connected via hdmi as well), which is then connected to my projector via hdmi.

I don't have this issue when watching dvd's (via my ps3) or other movies (via my HTPC), both of which are connected to the same receiver via hdmi.

I have SW version 3.0. Thank you.

Sounds like you have the shutdown problem that was an issue with early units.

Did you purchase new and how long have you had this HC3800?

When was the 1st time it shut down? Recently?

How many hrs on the HC3800?

Yes, I purchased new and I bought it March of 2010.

It's been shutting down, but only when I watch TV. It doesn't happen when I watch anything on my ps3 or htpc. I figured it was a handshake problem, but now I'm starting to think not. Thanks for your help!

No PJ should shutdown due to handshake issues. There was a debate early on in this thread about this and there were those who were excusing the shutdown problems with handshake connections. I was very adamant that this is NOT normal and that there is a problem (defect) with any PJ that shuts down due to a sync issue.

The reason I ask how many hrs is on your PJ is 'cos I was wondering if you have very low hrs? The shutdown issue was fixed early on, but if you used your PJ very little, it might have only popped up now.

Anyway, you're within the warranty so contact Mits and get it fixed!

Oops, I forgot to tell you that. It has about ~280 hours.

Any reason why I get mouse lag when trying to play games on this projector ? Its a wireless mouse but top fo the range so cant see that being the problem

I had this same problem and finally sent mine to Mits. They replaced the main board in the projector and it works great now. Send it back while you stil have warranty.

Checked the hours on my 3800 last night, 1034 hours. Havent noticed any drop in brightness and still delighted every time I use it.
I have mine about 8 months with 300 hrs on it. Lately, something is not like before but not sure how to describe it. The sharpness is different, in a bad way. Now, I can see the pixels on english subtitle. The movie pictures seem more duller/grainy.

Your eyes could be fooled because the brightness drops slowly over time. Just for kicks, check the contrast and brightness with a cal. disc.

Finally got around to doing that last night...... both brightness and contrast were still spot on. (ie one notch either way made it incorrect). Mind you last time I calibrated it was at about 500hours, its now about 1042hrs. So stability of these Mits projectors appears to be excellent.

I use most of PJ on blue-ray movies. Most of movies I've seen the horizontal bars on top and bottom of screen (I have DIY do-able 16:9, 100"). The black bars about 6" wide.

So I guess these movies are in 2.35:1 ???

Can I make two pieces of wood and wrap them with black velvet for these bars and it can be removed for 16:9 movies.

What are the best solutions?
Search the CIH threads, there is an entire category for it in the forum. It's hard to say the best masking solution, as it depends on your budget, whether you might just want to go with a motorized screen instead, etc...

I've got a HC3800 with about 500 hours on the bulb, has been repaired under warranty but warranty does expire next month, all original accessories plus extra bulb, and in very good shape. I've upgraded to a BenQ W6000 and am now looking to move it. Any ideas on what a good asking price would be? Thanks...

Hi,
I am having these lines on a brand new hc3200 unit, appeared only after 1 day, randomly. I was only playing around with some RGB settings.
Please advise what is it?

Please help
Yeah, that doesn't look good. If you've already tried rebooting (when unit is off, unplug the AC power cord from the wall for 30 mins, then replug in and try again), then you'll have to contact Mits....
