Tom, looking for some input on the VT50. Myself and a couple of others have noticed an issue and cant figure out the reasoning.
When starting in Warm 2, and even doing s simple 2pt grayscale and 10pt gamma adjustment, dark scenes have an obnoxious red dither going on. Same is obvious on a Brightness pattern with flashing bars. After calibration the bars from 17 and up are obviously red. This red doesnt show up in all dark areas, it just seems to present itself more in dark scenes. Im going to try and investigate when it starts to turn red during the calibration, but the 2pt results for mine were a dE less than 2 on average, with blue mostly on top. Red was a little high at 10% stimulus, but the dE was only 3.8 there.
Day scenes look phenomenal. Before this I started with a color temp of Normal and the results were much better. Little lost why this red is intruding when its not showing up 10-100 on grayscale. This is with both 10% windows on the GCD disc and 6.5% windows on another disc here.
I can sit here wth a bad "red" dim scene, and cut color temp down from Warm 2 to Warm 1, then to Normal. As soon as it goes from Wamr 1 to Normal, there is an obvious shift and the red is mostly gone.
