Hello all.

Anyone here using an Ellion HMR-500 or similar and accessing shares on a Windows7-machine succesfully?
No other additional software being used.
Or success with any other streaming-device?

Thanks

Resolved :-)
Might be of interest for other user with Win7-machines. Saw several postings in the net other players also having problems.

------------------

They 4 main settings are:

-- In local security policy (Run - secpol.msc) set >Network Access: Let everyone permissions apply to anonymous
(without the Win7machine is there, but you are not able to logon)

-- Enable Guest account
(without you can logon to the machine but don`t see any shares)

-- Add Everyone to Security with read-permission. Without this the shares don`t show any content.

-- Network access: Restrict anonymous access to Named Pipes and Shares : Disable

User/pw-mask appears --> leave empty and go on.

Did not have to set LM-NTLM in local security policy, NTLM V2.0 only works.

So this is valid for the Ellion 500 (and most probably MHR 600)

Other network media player may need other settings.
C-200 i.e. works without any changes, Xtreamer is needing other settings, although "Let everyone permissions apply to anonymous" is from the Xtreamer-forum, but they even had to change different settings for Vista-shares.
Dune Prime/Base may also need other settings, saw postings Dune-owners having the same problem.

However this is what works with the Ellion and may be a start for other devices having problems with Win7.
