Kinda mediocre PQ with some ringing/EE although the grain is there even if it doesn't look very well compressed.. The fuhrer would not be pleased.

Unfortunately I suspect that the EE is in the DI, like with The Machinist.

could probably look better considering how recent it is, but looks watchable.

You have no idea. If you watch any of the Youtube videos where they change the subs to this movie you'll find he gets angry at everything.

I have this BD and watched it twice. I thought the image was fine and serviceable. The movie itself is fantastic.

This is a superb movie.

BTW, where is the German Extended Version?

This is a great movie for those of you who have not seen it. I have debated whether or not to buy the BD version of the movie. The DVD version looks pretty bad, but I had previously heard that the BD version was not a great transfer. Judging by the screencaps here, it seems to be the case, but it is still a big jump vs the DVD.

I will watch the sales in Q4 and may grab this movie on BD as it is such a great film..

Cant say that I find any serious EE issues. I can see slight haloing one some scenes, but not the other signs that should be apperent of EE.

Does anyone know how this compares to the Spanish Constantin Film HD DVD release?

It's far superior to the HD DVD release.

Considering how grainy this is, I'd say they did a bang up job. It's very serviceable.

In what way?

All I've read is that the HD DVD release was very grainy, but most reviews seemed to believe that the original film was that way and thus the HD DVD was probably accurate.

LOL!
Watched last nite.

A grain lovers delight.
Have to wonder if this was shot this way....
Although it is possible, I don't see how the movie gains by this.
PQ is not pleasing, but the SQ is something to really bitch about: LOSSY only.

Amazing film and, as you all know, the classic Hitler loses it scene featured on Youtube in a variety of reincarnations.
