nyt's theater / game room build

About a year and a half ago I purchased my first home. The first floor of the high ranch was completely unfinished, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to build the theater / game room I always wanted.

I just finished the construction and theater part of the project, and will be completing the rest of it (pool table, restore arcade machine, pinball machine, etc) as soon as funds allow. The work was done entirely by myself, my wife, and one of my good friends.

Anyway, onto the good stuff.

EDIT: replaced pics with a more current version

This is how it started:

And this is how it is now:

UPDATE: new subs!!

Yeah, since it's completely light controlled, once you turn down the lights you can't see a thing =]

Nice Job! Isn't it nice to be able to hit that point where you can buy furnishings and cool stuff that will be visible? My wife always used to say "You're spending money, but I don't see anything." lol

Nice!!! I like the blue color on the walls. How do you like your Klipsch and Denon setup? I have the 62 series system with RT10d sub and Denon (2805) for my receiver. I've had lots of comments on how much it really sounds like a true theater. Enjoy your room you did a great job.

I got a new couch with the middle recliner, however they delivered it and decided the middle shouldn't recline. A replacement is another 4 weeks out

However, my new subs at least kick ass =]

Based on title of your thread where in the heck are the games??

VERY nice theater space - beautiful layout and seating - but all ya can do is sit in the dark and watch stuff - this is just my age showing - our setup is more of a bar and game room with a theater component - at our elderly time of life "games" to us are defined as pinball, foosball, darts and other commercial arcade toys.

My serious comment is beautifully done.

Well it was for video games =]

I do have an air hockey and slot car setup in one of the other rooms =] I will eventually be setting up a MAME cabinet and I want to try to find a pinball machine
