The consolization continues, it gets a third person view.

I wonder what utility a third-person view could possibly provide in a game like this. It just wouldn't seem right.

I always prefer the Battlefield series for multiplayer anyway. Dedicated servers promised for Battlefield Bad Company 2.

I find it ironic that Dice never developed a PC version of Battlefield: Bad Company, but now they're all loud-mouthed about Bad Company 2 coming to the PC after the whole mess over Modern Warfare 2. It's a shame to know all these companies would and will do the same thing for profits.

I'm saying personally I won't miss the dedicated servers that much from MW2 because MW1 felt like mostly a single player game that added multiplayer later. The Battlefield series is multiplayer from the ground up. Perhaps they'll reverse their decision and add dedicated servers later.

I would say nice going IW ... Looks like they fired all PC developers leaving small support group just to port console to pc.

Here is more info about another nail IW put in for the PC gamers...boy I thought I would get the game just to support PC gaming and IW but if thats how IW feels about PC gamers the frak them.... Hope the pirates wipe them out of all the gaming markets . This is coming from normally a peaceful, calm and hopefully polite Canuck that does not get phased by much about many things but this is just cr@p . Guess its time to move on to something else that is new not from IW or until they change their attitude on PC gaming. Maybe just do the mod'd CoD4 stuff again.

I'm not entirely surprised at this move.....the PC gamers still get their port, they get mouselook and adjustable resolutions....but the pc-specific customization days are fading. Too much trouble to implement for no financial payoff, I'm guessing.

Besides...IW probably knows that in 3 days some kids in Sweden will have a front-end +12 trainer sitting out there that lets you change all those variables anyhow.

I canceled my pre-order for this game yesterday. It wasn't necessarily for the restrictions and lack of special attention put towards the PC version, but because I have so many other great games to play in my already limited free time.

I am sucker and when I get bore in the middle of this winter, I will prob get MW2 and play the SP. Just hope by then STEAM will have a good sale on it esp if not many PC gamers buy it. I did the same thing with CoD5, I just played its SP since MP WW2 stuff is just not to my taste at this pt in time.

OT: Well looking to see what Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will provide in PC MP...the graphics so far looks pretty good. Just wonder if it will even have a SP game that is worth playing or will it be just MP as with all other DICE Battlefield games of the past.

It looks like IW screwed everyone on the SP portion of the game. Reviews are stating ~5-6 hour campaign on Hardened with a disjointed, ridiculous story. Looks like everything went into the MP modes on this one (the 2 player Spec Ops mode is said to be very good).

Well I am def waiting on a sale at STEAM to pick it up since I am sucker for the SP when I am bored enuf (prob in the winter around Feb ). Do not want it enuf to drive to the local retailer or even STEAM and get it tho, maybe wait to see what the MP for the PC will be like. A 1st for an IW CoD game that I am not rushing out to get. The only real concern is that if I ever want to do MP, by the time I get it then everybody else playing would be super grunts with all the neat toys.

Anyway by that time (Feb/Mar) Bad Company 2 would be just around the corner.

Dragon Age will prob keep me going till then anyway since I am getting my @ss kicked in DA right now and I am still near the beginning of the game (?) .

Yeah, even IGN's review wasn't all too impressed with the single-player campaign. I'll still eventually get it.

It does seem that the visuals should be spectacular on the PC.

HeadRusch, I disagree. I understand what you're saying and why you feel that way. My favorite multiplayer experience hand's down has been Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Incredibly fun and engaging.

I just read/watched IGN's PC review, they praised the multiplayer, "forgot" to mention there are no dedicated servers and the ability to lean has been removed. I really wanted to get this game.. but removing features and raising up the price by $10, isn't acceptable to me.. I'll wait till the price drops a bit before I purchase.

Yeah with all of the limitations I certainly will not spend 60$ on this game. Serious balls to even begin to charge like a console game but then not even giving features that are expected...Nah...NEXT (or grab it when its 20$ on Steam maybe). There's just too many great games being released right now to bother with IW's BS.

Can anyone confirm issues with nothing coming out of the center speakers? No dialogue and very little bg sounds?

short summaries for us at work please?

Windows 7 ultimate here and I can't get 5.1 to work at all. Everything else in Windows is 5.1, movies etc, but not COD

FWIW, it's the same story on consoles, no center channel audio.

That's odd. So, is the audio mixed as 4.0 or 4.1 instead? Do the extra surround channels in a 7.1 system get any activity?

Regardless, a patch to fix the audio rendering should be in order. I've played PC games where audio is far less important to the experience in discrete 7.1.

Just finished on Hardened in a little over 8 hours. In general. I enjoyed the campaign more than COD4 but didn't care for the even more outlandish storyline. I did like that the annoying COD game mechanic of infinite-spawning-bad-guys-until-you-advance was either eliminated or done so that it was not as noticeable. I thought some of the vehicle interaction stuff was a bit lame but generally the graphics, sound, music, voice-acting, motion capture, etc. could produce some epic experiences. Will be giving the campaign a replay on Veteran. With a GTX260 and a dual core AMD, I was able to play at 1920x1200 with 2xAA, and everything else maxed with great framerates. Did hit a few slow downs though during the night/rain battle scenes.

I just started the SP campaign last night, and yup no audio out of the center channel even when the guy is standing right in front of you, very, very annoying.

Visuals on this game are very good, much better to my eye than the console version at 1920*1080 2x AA. Runs real well on my Q6600/8800GT SLI. The story line so far is very outlandish, it almost seems like they are trying to make it the most extreme of everything, at all times. I got a good LOL out of the snowmobile mission, having been a snowmobile rider most of my life. I've never seen a machine that would do what seems to be around 200 mph, even downhill

I've messed around with this game finally for a little bit (no time, no time!)...and I have to say, its reaching the point of being just a little too absurd in the "frantic pacing department". I knew the game was gonna be over the top, but right now its so fast-paced that I really wasn't enjoying anything I was doing, and I died. A lot. I mean, a lot. This is both good (if you are playing stupid), and bad (no lean, 10 enemies all drawing a bead on your location at the same time, etc).

Its almost like you don't get to enjoy the gun-porn because you are always getting shot at from all sides by ever-appearing enemies. Its just a little too much sensory overload for me....great game but I wish they'd let me enjoy my killing a lil' bit more
