Agreed. He appears to genuinely have a real sense of humor, comedic timing, and he can take on characters and do impersonations and voices and dialects. Plus... he can act, and doesn't always have to read every word while staring into a cue card (January Jones... are you listening???)
Similarly surprising was Taylor Swift, when she did her Shakira impersonation.

I thought Will Forte as the "closet organizer" was absolutely hilarious! First truly new character and sketch idea in a long time. Reprising it with Hamm in the bar was also a novel and inventive and amusing idea... and it worked too!
I wonder if it will be repeated to death, and take on a "Magruber"-like tiresomeness eventually. Certainly on this first appearance it was nothing but laugh-out-loud funny.
