wifi tablet

This tablet looks like it could be a nice web interface to home controls like girder. The price tag doesn't look to bad either.

I'm thinking of getting Girder but it's dependent on finding a not so expensive option like this. Does anyone have any other options that won't hurt the wallet too bad?

i would wait for the tech crunch - CrunchPad
Around the same price for a bigger screen
Best Buy chief marketing officer Barry Judge just met with the "chief blogger" at TechCrunch. Presumably, that's Michael Arrington.

He tweeted that he saw a prototype and it looks to be a hit
If Best Buy getting involved there def a push for this product to go mainstream

If it ever comes out before the rumored 'greatest thing to walk the earth' Apple Tablet arrives :-)

I think 2010 is going to be a great year for those of us who want lots of options for reasonably priced tablet devices. I am really hoping the Apple tablet comes with the option to run full Leopard OS mode or iphone OS mode.

Wow, the specs on that Toshiba are awesome. I like its cradle too. That is important for a home control device.

This looks like it would be nice mounted on a wall, although that is not what it is meant to do. I wonder how much venting it needs.

Whatever you get, make sure it has a docking station for power. You definitely do not want to plug the device in and unplug it everytime you want to use it. At least not if you plan on using it as a wireless remote for automation purposes.

Plus it has Windows CE - what a waste....
