can i use an MFW15 amp to power a sub w/o the controller unit?

hi all. just wondering if there is a way to use an mfw15 amp to do a DIY if i do not have a controller unit with it? could i somehow hook the driver up directly to the amp? would this work?

Lets say it would work, how would it know what phase, frequency or gain to run at? A quick email to their support line or a call should provide a quick answer. You can still hook the driver up to the amp, I just don't see a good reason to try it without the controller unit.
