Movie poster boxes are completed. They're lighted with one 16 ft LED light rope each that I picked up cheap a Walmart. So far they work fine and I like that there's no power block to hide. I am surprised how bright they are for just one string and additional ones can be coupled on the end if I decide to.
I have about $ 200 in the whole project, wood, led lights, plexi-glass and posters.
I had the unveiling of them Saturday night, in particular the center one, for my wife, as she's a big CG fan and collector, at her birthday party and the theater premiere for our family. We had 20 people (18 adults & 2 small children) so used all the seats and some sat on the steps and floor. Its hard not to sound too proud but, there were many compliments and some shock that we have a real theater in the house. With that many people it did really seem authentic, with caramel and popcorn smells, people talking during the movie (I thought I was getting away from that
). Definitely the most fun I've had since the project started. We watched Oz the Great and Powerful. Was a great effect and audience reaction when the screen went from black & white to color and widened from 4:3 to 2.40:1.
Installed the lighted exit sign as well. It and the lighted posters are controlled through my X10 system.
