Favreau and Downey Jr. apparently are teaming up again for an adaptation of this lesser known comic book about what would happen if advanced aliens invaded mid-1800's Arizona.

Never read this one, but it sounds like a fun\\interesting concept and this team is definitely one I enjoy. What do you guys think?

I think the Favreau/Downey combo, combined with that awesome title is something I'm looking forward to hearing more about.

Looks like Downey has opted out of this in favor of a Sherlock Holmes sequel..

Sounds like a bad SyFy (gawd I hate that name) channel plot. I know they will do better then what I have seen done with it there.

Downey was replaced by none other than Daniel Craig (will be good to see him in a more "fun" role I think), and not only that but the news that has bumped this title to a must-see is that Olivia Wilde is joining as the female lead:

The IMDB projects it for a 2011 release. Lots of time for cast changes.

Some details about the plot have been released... and apparently Sam Rockwell & Harrison Ford have joined the cast too. Also Damon Lindelof (of LOST infamy) has joined as a writer!

The opening of their panel including Favreau's reasoning for not shooting 3D, how he set the tone between Western and Sci-Fi, and Harrison Ford's first comic con experience:

30 seconds into the trailer....did Daniel Craig stab that guy in the junk? He must be an alien, because no man would do that to another man.

I love the credentials that pop up at the end. "From the director of Iron Man"..."From executive producer Steven Spielberg"...

I was expecting the next build up to be "From some dude who knows James Cameron, the guy who made Avatar".

All excitement I had for this one flew out the window when I saw it had that old guy from the Star Wars movies in it.

I like what I see. I still can't believe the goof ball that is Jon Favreau is capable of directing a movie like Iron Man.

Harrison ford? Is that a joke? He's a great actor. Why would his being in it
Make it bad?

Btw-he's the old guy groom a little movie called Indiana jones. There were a few sequels. The first is considered one of the greatest movies made.

Ford? I thought he made cars a long time ago or something. The Model T, right? His name was Henry, though.

Indiana Jones...don't know that one. What the Hell kind of name is that?

Hey, you could combine those names and come up with a better one: Henry Jones (or Junior if you're the second). I wouldn't even name my dog Indiana...

Oh I see. Sarcasm.

My apologies.

No worries. I have a good feeling about this, upon watching the trailer a second time. I hoped to catch this on the big screen before HP7, but it didn't happen.

I always love Craig and the intensity he brings to his roles - and I guess a decision was made to change the movie from a playful tone (thus the original choice of RDJr.) to a more serious sci-fi angle (thus bringing in Craig) - which might turn out to be the master stroke.

Hugely positive reaction to this trailer in NYC on the two occasions I saw it (both times in a packed house).
