One thing about TVD.. they certainly don't mind killing off (semi-important) cast members.
I miss Rick, Jenna and even Lexi, also liked Jeremy's GF Anna and her mom- don't miss uncle John, Elena's mom, Tyler's dad (and now his mom) or Vicky Donovan.
And yes, we still have Rebekah.... biggrin.gif
They have to thin the cast from time to time...
After all, this show is dealing with preternatural predators.
Besides....no one is COMPLETELY GONE in a series like this....wink.gif

If Cult fails, I'll be even more annoyed that Alaric died for nothing.

Speaking of the departed...
Sara Canning (Jenna on TVD) currently co-stars in the Canadian TV sci-fi series "Primeval: New World".
They've aired 11 eps so far, it's decent enough- kind of like Eureka, as a matter of fact, the other co-star is from Eureka and two episodes back Colin Ferguson guest starred.

SyFi has agreed to air the series- but hasn't decided on a date yet rolleyes.gif

Jeremy gets smoked and The Big Bad is on the loose.
Another good episode.
Can't wait for next week.smile.gif

Don't foget that Katherine also has the cure. I wonder whose throat she is going to try to shove it down. biggrin.gif

Yeah, I wonder...wink.gif

Wow... best episode in a long time!
I really hate the Kathrine character, she needs to die. I hope she takes the cure and then the brothers have their way with her one final time!

Jeremy better not be dead nor Bonnie
He's a supernatural creature now (Hunter), so his zombie ring won't provide him with an escape route this time. On the bright side, he gets to haunt Silas now, although I'm betting the whole "Silas can raise the dead" thing will end up being used to bring Jeremy back. Who knows, maybe it will also save Alaric if Cult fails. wink.gif

I really don't know what is going to happen next (and I like it wink.gif).

The new episode is excellent....this season may be the best yet.
Nina Dobrev (Elena) easily gave the performance of the season.
I did not know she was that good.cool.gif

It became obvious Silas has taken on the image/identity of Shane (thank you for killing the SOB biggrin.gif) and is controlling Bonnie.

FWIW, the wife told me she read in one of the rags the pilot for "The Originals" will air in late April on the CW...
Nina Dobrev's always done well at differentiating between the two characters she plays, but she gave a truly command performance this week during Elena's emotional breakdown.

I wouldn't be so sure that Shane is dead. It was obvious that the Shane who miraculously appeared to Bonnie was Silas, since there was no explanation of how he escaped from the cave, but the fact that Rebekah was able to physically bump into Shane's body suggests to me that the real Shane is alive. I get the impression that Silas's powers are similar to those of The First, in that his various apparitions can't interact with the physical world; he can only tell you to do things. Since Shane grabbed her, either Silas can create multiple visions in different places at the same time and can also touch people and things, or Shane is alive. Perhaps now that Silas has fed, the extent of his abilities has increased. I don't think he's literally controlling Bonnie, either, though: he's just manipulating her by preying on her desire to see Jeremy and everyone else alive again.

As for "The Originals", that's the name of the final episode of this season, which will air on April 25 and serve as the pilot for the spin-off series, assuming the CW picks it up for next season. It is going to focus on Klaus and Elijah returning to New Orleans, which is why they thew in the line this week about Hayley being found there: she's part of that show's proposed cast. Here's hoping Rebekah joins them, too.

Was a major character actually killed? eek.gif

Not likely.
This series has shown more resurrection of characters than the bible.tongue.gif

Can you name even one character who died and then came back? Of all the semi-regular cast members who've kicked the bucket on this show (Vickie, Anna, Rose, Jenna, Alaric), none of them have returned on a permanent basis. The question is whether they are going to use the whole Silas angle to bring Jeremy back from the dead. Either way, I expect we will see him on screen again as a ghost, since he gets to haunt Silas now.

Either way, very few disappear completely from the show.wink.gif

Getting turned into a vampire doesn't count as dying in a show like this. biggrin.gif

Well, she seems to be the only one who's really anxious to take the cure. So, maybe being a vampire isn't such a bad thing after all?

Anyone here watch Matt Davis (Alaric in TVD) in Cult? I watched the first episode last night- a bit confusing, but decent enough for a pilot episode.

I am watching it mostly due to him. Pilot had ALOT going on. Can't wait to see the follow up on episode 2.

Superpowers and the ability to hypnotize women?
Oh yeah....biggrin.gif

The new episodes don't start until next week (18th), but this is a snippet from the article:

"but his face won't actually show up often over the next few weeks. Look for Silas to continue to take on various faces and forms as we move ahead to the May 16 finale."

So who knows how long they will drag it out.
It's mildly amusing to me that this is the same thing they did for the big Klaus reveal, except that this time Alaric isn't around to get possessed. Now that Cult got cancelled, who's looking foward to him coming back from the dead when Bonnie pokes a hole in the multiverse? wink.gif

If you missed the "pilot" for The Originals last night, it's already gotten picked up for next season, so it looks like Silas is officially replacing Klaus in TVD now. Claire Holt is also confirmed as a main cast member of the spin off, so she'll be leaving, too.

My only gripes with the episode were a) it was immediately obvious that Jane Anne would be the sister to get offed, since there is no way that someone with such a cumbersome name would be part of the regular cast, and b) you'd think they could come up with something better than a Darla's-pregnant-with-Angel's-impossibaby story. There aren't that many shows about vampires, so it's kind of sad that the spinoff hasn't even started yet, but it's already centered around a cliché.

No, I didn't miss the pilot and I liked it to boot.
Thanx for the info regarding it being picked up.

Did you notice Claire Holt's Rebecca seemed different?
I get the feeling her character is being modified for the new show.

Will Nina D. be in 2 different series?
Claire Holt seemed the same to me; Rebekah still hates Klaus, so I guess she'll be forced to leave Mystic Falls somehow in the coming episodes. Nina Dobrev is not a regular in The Originals (neither Katherine nor Elena have major roles, as Klaus is the main character), although I would surely expect at least some crossover episodes between the two series as long as both are on the air.

Doubtful, since Katherine doesn't want to be around Klaus due to that desire to remain "living" thing.......tongue.gif
