Hot dog! I am really enjoying this show.

Now we'll have to wait till the end of March for another new episode
I'm really looking forward to this season on BR, as CW is only offered in SD locally. So, hurry up already and show the rest of the episodes!

Anybody looking forward to the return of this show starting tonight?
I must admit this show has grown on me from when it first started.
The first couple of episodes seemed rather weak and I had very low expectations for this show and was ready to plug the plug.
I'm glad I didn't give up as to my surprise it got much better and I actually found it to be an enjoyable guilty pleasure.
Having some hot babes (eye candy) certainly helped in me liking this show but what really saved this show IMO, is the story lines improved dramatically and it became much more compelling to watch.
Hopefully these new episodes will continue to be enjoyable.

Yes, she's quite the Bulgarian Beauty.

A 22 episode first season means that sometime mid-May we might hear about a Blu release.
I love this show even though I'm most assuredly not the target demographic. It's like Twilight, only stuff happens.

Nice finale. Damon actually gets emotional. And a surprise ending. Chop!

Great episode, one of the best cliffhangers I've seen in quite some time, very well done.

Great episode and great season finale!
I sure hope this show comes back for another season.

I'm coming out of the closet. I'm definitely not in the target demographic on this show, but since it was on before 'Supernatural,' I gave it a shot. I've watched every episode, and have enjoyed it all season.

So, what's the deal with the (now deceased) mayor and his son - werewolves?
That's what I was thinking, but they didn't give us much to go on there.

Well, if you wonder about any character on this show, any mystery like that can be spoiled instantly on a hundred different sites.
Eagerly awaiting Blu Ray release. For those who are lucky enough to have the CW in HD, was the audio/video up to par?

I am not going to claim to be any kind of expert, but I thought the picture quality on my ten foot screen was very good. And for a TV show about vampires, there are a lot of vibrant, bright outdoor daylight scenes.

That is my guess since we have little to nothing to go on. Nice season cliff hanger.

"Hi Mom."

This show is just fun stuff, as Caroline redeems herself!!

Good to see more people are watching the show.

Guess it's Tyler's turn to become the local warewolf.

Awesome episode, awesome show. I think it's amazing how this show just keeps on getting better and better as time goes on. The characters on this show don't seem to be scripted and designed but actual living, thinking individuals. That's how good it is.

I can't tell you how shocked I was that they actually killed off Mason.
Well done!

Shocking? Nah ... Now if a member of the core triangle were killed off, that would be "shocking." They've pretty much established that any and all of the supporting characters are in play ... especially "recent arrivals."
Let me amend, then...
I figured the Mason character was in for a longer story arc. I'm not sad to see him go, just figured they would have dragged things out more. Guess I've been conditioned by most other shows that drag things out TOO long.
I'm pleasantly surprised at the pace of this show.
The eye-candy cannot be beat, either.

CW Delays Returns of 'Smallville' and 'Supernatural' One Week to Run 'Vampire Diaries' and 'Nikita' Encores

By Robert Seidman
- January 27, 2011

CW is pushing the return of Smallville and Supernatural by one week to run Nikita and Vampire Diaries repeats on Friday (of the episodes airing tonight). Smallville and Supernatural will instead return with new episodes on 2/4.

Of course to over-sensitive fans of Supernatural and Smallville this will seem like a slap in the face, and even the normally sensitive fans will be annoyed about having to wait an extra week. But considering how well American Idol is holding up so far, I can't say I blame the CW for trying to get some extra sampling for the returning Thursday shows. I doubt it will ultimately make any difference, but still.

Update: James Hibberd has some additional info, apparently local CW affiliate preemptions in Baltimore and (more importantly) Chicago tonight (Thursday) might have played into the decision, too.
