The Most Boring Movie You Have Ever Seen

For me three come to mind immediately:

Harry Potter nd the Half Blood Prince
Riding In Cars With Boys
Battlefield Earth

Let's get a list going, I would like to see what movies you thought were long and boring.

Recently...AdventureLand.

Awful movie. It's marketed as a dramatic comedy too - I didn't even crack a smile. Couldn't wait for it to be over with.

Battlefiled Earth belongs in the worst movie ever made poll.

Once Roger Ebert gave 3.5 stars to a movie (can't remember name now) of two guys just talking to each other, THE WHOLE MOVIE! Interesting conversation no doubt, but.....

Duplicity. I so fell asleep to it.

SILENT HILL

CABLE GUY

HIGHLANDER The Source

The Fountain with whathisface from the X Men.

Biggest pile of misrepresented crap the wife and I ever had the missfortune to pay to see. There's a couple of hours that could have been better spent.

Seggers

Edit: BTW, what was wrong with the HP film? We quite liked it.

Transformers 2.
I wouldn't call TF2 boring.....stupid and horribly done, but not boring.

"My Dinner With Andre" would be the title. And it deserved more than 3.5. Perhaps actually watching a film before rating it might be a good premise for this thread.

Back on topic, I'd say that the potential list is pretty long.

Coffee and Cigarettes?

Man, The Fountain was great. And TF2 might not have been that good, but it wasnt boring!

From recent memory, I'd have to go with:

-The Punisher (new one with Travolta)
-Ghost Rider
-Stomp The Yard
-The Forgotten (except for maybe 2 scenes)
-Max Payne (save for the visuals)
-Hitman (save for the Russian chick)
-Lions For Lambs
-Redacted
-Stop-Loss
-The Shining
-Mission Impossible 2

The English Patient was one I could never get into.

That was one of the first movies that came to mind, but I shut it off 1/2 hour into it so I didn't think it counted. Awful.
OK, flame suit on....

LOTR FOTR.

At the end (what was it, 10 hours? Felt that way anyway) I just looked at my wife and said, "That's IT? I sat here for THREE hours, and THAT'S IT?"

OK, maybe it's a tie with Dune.

Seven Pounds! Thats how much brain matter you lose if you can stay awake to watch it. Almost caused a brain aneurysm.

Negative Five Star Movies:

- Seven Pounds
- Apocalypto
- Bedtime Stories
- The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
- The Fountain
- Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium
- 10,000
- Youth without youth
- Stardust

There are others I could add, but they don't hold a candle to how horrid the above movies are. One Honorable Mention is Starship Troopers 1, 2 and 3.

Wow...I like some of those, all in red.

Wow...I like some of these too, in red. I enjoyed The Shining, but liked the mini-series better. I loved The Punisher with Thomas Jane, but hated the other one.

Definitely stupid. The bad guys in the movie didn't even bring weapons and they had a shotgun...idiots!
Wall-E, didn't watch more than 15 minutes of it. Does this thread require you actually finish watching the movie?

Not the most boring movie, but my most hated movie was Natural Born Killers. It actually gave me a headache watching it and I would have left the movie but I was with other people, found out at the end of the movie they all wanted to leave too.
Wall-E was fantastic! As was Benjamin Button and LOTR: FOTR! And the Punisher was completely laughable.

What an incendiary thread this is! :P

First, I loved the entire LOTR trilogy and The Fountain is haunting. I loved it.

I've got a few that come to mind:
Highlander 2
The Avengers
Drag Me To Hell
Romance (as much as I love french cinema, this one is simply stupid)

Give me a minute and I will find more...

I'm not sure what it is about this horrible, horrible movie....but I kind of like watching it when no one is around.

Maybe ive been spoon fed to long but, i just dont understand why they guy was in a bubble in space eating a tree. what did the bubble represent? what did the tree represent? etc.
Wow. I'm surprised to see 'The Shining' and 'Natural Born Killers' in a most boring movie you've seen thread.

And Starship Troopers. Stupid yes. Boring No.

I'll call that and raise you with

Citizen Kane
The Three Colors Trilogy and
Babbet's Feast

All critically acclaimed and all monumental snooze fests. If you suffer from insomia, I heartily recommend all the above. You'll be happily dozing off in less than an hour.

I think it was just so stupid is crossed the barrier and became entertaining for me. How can you not enjoy the qualities of a master thespian like Casper Van Dien? Truly outstanding work. I was shocked when he wasn't nominated.
