All in addition to and not as bad as my post on page 2.
I am not Tim Robbins' most ardent fan, either, although, like you, I love Shawshank. In fact, it's in the running, along with The Godfather I and II and a very few others, for my favorite movie of all time. I also liked Robbins in the wearing but rewarding Mystic River. That, however, could be because Dennis Lehane, who wrote the novel upon which the film is based, is one of my favorite authors and I loved his haunting book. Oh, and I nearly forgot, Robbins was terrific in his star making performance as the kid pitcher, Nuke LaLoosh, in Bull Durham. That may be the best sports movie ever made.
Among your movies listed above, Chicago is the only one about which I profoundly disagree. Keep in mind, though, that I never met a musical I didn't like at least a little and Chicago has always been one of my favorite Broadway musicals. I really, really, really agree with you about The Piano and Cold Mountain. Double yuk!
