vsx-ax10ai with ilink

Hello there, i have a pioneer vsxax10ai reciever and am wondering what exactly can i do with the ilink interface conection and how can i benefit from this as my amp has no hdmi. I dont really understand its meaning that well and am new to ilink. What can i hook up to it. Please help. Regards Grassy

Typically a dvd-audo/sacdplayer with ilink jacks would be the logical choice, these typically are higher-end players

The DV-59AVi and DV-79AVi are great choices for iLink. That way you can utilize the PQLS function as well.
They may be difficult to find, but well worth the effort.
(I have both hooked up to my SC-09TX)

i.LINK digital interface
The i.LINK interface makes it possible to connect this
receiver to i.LINK-equipped components, allowing you to
enjoy high sampling rate (up to 192kHz) PCM
multichannel digital audio from DVD-Audio and SACD
discs, as well as digital audio from DVD-Video, CD and
Video CD discs, all with a single cable.

Page 83 offers additional information.

Wow, i have to do some serious homework on this amp, i have had this amp now for around 4 years and never really took much notice of the possiblities it offers. I want to try and get the best out of it as i am thinking of going seperates in the theatre room and moving this amp into the lounge room.Still saving for the denon avpa1hd to go in here
