Hi all and thanks in advance for any help. For a long time and after warranty lapse, the picture is not very bright in any standard video mode requiring custom mode with brightness cranked up to max to get anything near an acceptable picture and it's still too dim. Adjusting contrast doesn't help either. This has been true both before and after a new bulb install, and before and after a swap of the digital electronics for another reason. Any ideas? Is there a hidden setting in service mode I can try? Could bad or mis-adjusted analog electronics be underdriving the bulb? Is there internal exposure of the optical elements to atmospheric dust? Could it be as simple as needing to clean mirrors or lenses? I'm in San Diego and we did have fires with fine dark ash in the air for some time, but the picture seemed dark even before that. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Note: The HLN507W ( 50 in.,1280 x 720) is very similar to the perhaps more widely known 61 in. HLN617W. Thanks again for any help.
