PS Button/XMB while playing music?

I used to be able to press the PS button and browse the XMB while playing music from the hard drive. This features seems to have vanished since firmware 3.0. It still works for videos, but not music. Anyone have any idea what happened to this feature?

Music Settings›Output Frequency›48khz

The feature doesn't work while upsampling.
